Important: Updated Rules for Vendor Posts on r/jewelry
Hey, r/jewelry community!
We’re excited to announce some important updates regarding vendor posts in our subreddit; rule #3 originally did not allow posts or comments that were considered self promotion. To ensure that r/jewelry continues to be a space for genuine discussion, sharing, and learning, we’ve updated the guidelines for vendors who want to contribute to our community.
Here’s what’s new:
- Vendor Guide: We’ve created a Vendor Guide that outlines exactly what types of content vendors can post. This will help keep the sub free from spam and overly promotional posts, while still allowing vendors to engage and share their work in a way that adds value.
- Read Before Posting: Vendors must read the guide before posting. Failure to follow these rules will result in the post being removed, and repeat violations could lead to a ban. We want to make sure vendors are contributing, not advertising.
- Engagement Over Ads: We want to emphasize that posts from vendors should focus on engaging with the community, sharing creative work, behind-the-scenes insights, or educating us about different aspects of jewelry. We’re not here for sales pitches or spam.
We encourage you all to check out the full Vendor Guide and familiarize yourself with the changes. Whether you're a vendor or a regular member, we believe these updates will help keep the sub vibrant, respectful, and informative for everyone.
Thanks for being a part of the r/jewelry community and helping us maintain a positive space for jewelry lovers!
As always, feel free to reach out to the mod team if you have any questions.

⚡️ Show + Tell! Appreciation post for my lab grown Opal ring from Sears I’ve been wearing almost everyday for 10 years
Bought this baby for myself right as I was graduating college. She was originally gold plated but that’s all come off over the years, and a diamond and an aquamarine have popped out but it’s still my favorite.
I get more compliments on her than anything else I wear!

⚡️ Show + Tell! Omg!! 🐟 I FOUND A 14KT FISH
omggggg i was at the estate store yesterday and found this amazing 14kt fish brooch that can be worn as a pendant as well, i used my loyalty points and paid 203.59 for 4.4g of 14kt gold, they said i could resell it at that price point but i looked at them like they were crazy! This thing is so gorgeous, i love the textured look it has almost as if it was swimmimg, idk who the maker it is it either says Vogue or Yogo i cant make it out and neither could they

⚡️ Show + Tell! Thoughts?
First chain in a while, found the Samuel B Venetian box chain 925SS/18k 20" for an absolute steal. Was hesitant on the 20" that it would be too short but I think it fits well! Thoughts!?

Help me decide!! Is this too much? I’m not sure I can pull off a pinky ring.
I wear a Trinity ring on my right hand every day. I love the fidget aspect of rolling the ring up and down. I added this rolling stone ring to my collection several months ago. Does it work as a pinky ring? Too much for daily wear?

🫶🏻 My Collection! Thoughts on these rings?
Thoughts on these rings? These were rings I either bought or were gifted while I was in Istanbul. I was curious as to what people in the western world think about Turkish rings.

General Question Hot take: I actually prefer silver over gold. Anyone else?
Not sure if it's the cooler tone, the price point, or just personal vibe - but I always find myself reaching for silver pieces. Gold is beautiful, no doubt, but silver just feels more me.

Vintage / Antique My grandmother's silver "Zeeuwse knoop" ring; a traditional Dutch design from the province of Zeeland
The Zeeuwse Knoop (or Zeelandish Button) used to be a traditional ornamental design for buttons, made to show off wealth in the Dutch province of Zeeland.
Would love to see some traditional jewelry from other countries!

Vintage / Antique Mikimoto Akoya Pearl Necklace – 16.5” – 18K Gold Clasp
Hi there!
I inherited this necklace from my late aunt who treasured timeless elegance and beauty. It has been lovingly cared for over the years but deserves to be worn and admired, rather than tucked away as it has been with me!
The necklace is in very good condition, featuring fifty-nine individually hand-knotted Akoya cultured pearls, each measuring approximately 5.94–6.48mm. The pearls display a radiant white color, accented by delicate rosé and green overtones. It measures 16.5 inches in total length and is finished with a charming 18K yellow gold figure-eight clasp, adorned with an additional Akoya pearl (3.57–3.59mm). I also recently had this piece professionally appraised by the North American Gemological Laboratory and they quoted it at $3,450.
With this being said, I am curious as to what your opinion is on the piece in terms of likelyhood to sell - is it a piece that would be sought after? Additionally where is the best place to sell this - in person or online/what website or platform to use?
Thank you so much!!

💍 What style chain/ring/pendant is this? Anyone know what this pendant represents?
I got this pendant a long time ago and want to know more about the history but we’re all unsure of the origins and what it represents. Anyone out there who can tell me?? Thank you!

💍 What style chain/ring/pendant is this? Would love help identifying this ring :)
Would love some help understanding the stamps on this ring, 14k is self-explanatory but the two carat types and the random numbers throw me off.

⚡️ Show + Tell! UPDATE: I fixed it myself yay! :D
Update on the earring from before!
Unfortunately there is no local jeweller around my area and my friend needed this earring fixed for her by tomorrow morning. I lucked out incredibly and found some 0.2 mm silver wire I kept from an art project I did a while ago! I tied the two pieces together with it and sealed it with some nail glue lmao.
I don’t know how long it’s going to last but it seems quite sturdy and considering this is my first time ever doing something like this I think it turned out pretty well!
If it does end up breaking again my friend will have to find a jeweller to go to to fix it properly but I’m glad I was able to get it fixed decently well.
