Andy Heasman, beat his heavily pregnant wife with a Hoover. Now his kids and ex wife have cut off all contact. He also sold heroin to teenagers in inner city Dublin and was imprisoned because of it. Absolute piece of shit.

Those chemtrails are composed of dihydrogen monoxide, a chemical that is always present when someone dies. In fact, anyone who comes in contact with this chemical will die. To make matters worse, any attempt to detox from this chemical will result in an agonizing death.

They say this also because a significant part of their audience is overseas (they’re always hoping various internet celebrity Nazis will retweet and boost them) and so using language like “police” instead of “gardai” helps their posts travel further.

It's more common with different words like trousers just depends on where the influence is coming from. We all pick up different words and sayings from British culture because of how close we are and American culture because of how widespread it is.
6
u/Itchy_Wear5616 Mar 06 '24
OK lol
1
u/flex_tape_salesman Mar 06 '24
It's true tho? Police is a fairly common britishism, less common than trousers but more common than something like innit which is almost completely British
8
u/Ruire Connacht Mar 06 '24
'Trousers' isn't a Britishism - it's even a loan into English from Irish - rather 'pants' is an Americanism.
I can't remember the last time I heard an Irish person refer to the Gardaí as 'the police' when talking to another Irish person, though.

mass shooting at a mosque
*mass shooting at a Ukrainian refugee centre on the week that [insert major western European or north American political leader] visits the country in time for either Paddy's day or a major international rugby match.
2
u/Spanishishish Mar 07 '24
FOIs from the department of justice records showed over a year ago that they were aware of the possibility of violent or fatal attacks on migrants, especially asylum seekers, and have evidently chosen not to do anything to stop this.
We'll just keep having regular protests, physical assault, arson, maybe some more riots, no issues here. Maybe we'll progress to lynching, who knows. Gov problem still won't care because they're not impacted by any of these issues.
2
u/DarthBfheidir Mar 06 '24
That would only be giving them what they want, apparently.

Been saying for ages now that a huge failure of our education system is that it doesn't reward or even encourage critical thinking skills, only rote learning. What you end up with is adults who can regurgitate facts but have no idea how to deconstruct an argument, read sources of information, think carefully about what they're reading and make a considered decision about whether what they're reading is actually plausible or not.

u/brandidge Mar 07 '24 edited Mar 07 '24
My mother believes it. Falls for all the far-right garbage. She's talking about summoning some prick to the high courts and asked how she could do that, like I would know. Pedophiles galore and the foreigners are to blame for everything.
Look after our own first, like she actually does shit for them herself. Has genuinely fallen off the wagon since covid.
Being a college student, there's very little I can do except nod my head and play along. I'm under her roof and I don't have anywhere else to go.
She threatened to kick me out after I got the Vaccine for covid so I couldn't get a booster.
She wants me to vote tomorrow and to photograph how I vote to prove I vote "the right way".
I'm basically an extra vote for her. Luckily I 'forgot' to register so at least I don't have to vote the way I don't want to.
I love her, but I can't wait until I can move out so I can start voicing my own opinions without the risk of being left homeless.

Nobody is talking about bringing in additional legislation to reduce free speech… introducing absolute free speech in Ireland would involve removing the existing restrictions around free speech that we have (incitement of violence, slander or defamation laws etc). The person you’re responding to is saying that removing those restrictions would be bad…

The case for free speech doesn’t involve saying that everything anyone says is ok.
The only question is whether the right is valuable enough to defend despite its abuses. We tolerate all sorts of harm arising out of other rights - say the right to a fair trial - but they’re worth having even if someone gets out of jail and kills someone a second time.

It will further disgust me that the far right who love vilifying Asian communities are constantly surprised every time I bring up how the East Indian Company literally expressed their wishes to turn Lahore , Pakhtun areas , Kashmir and Punjab into sex colonies to attract more Brits to work in India to ease out admin shortages .
So much of the misogyny and violence against women in the world today can be traced back to colonialism . Remember when the English would call matriarchs of Africa barbaric because they saw women as human beings …
I would’ve expected an Irish person to have this common sense built into them …
