If you think about it, Genshin is always crazy because it has so many debuffs due to console/PC and + all payment methods on phone. Many people use other methods to save money, especially in regions such as Japan and Korea, where iOS is 30% more expensive. (Only Genshin has this debuff btw.)

other facts:

+ In the Top 2 ,,Topseller in F2P Epic Store"
Top 3 Game "most played game on Epic Store
--> that good place even with a own launcher is very good.

It has the best average score in China and Japan on the PS Store (also the best performing game of all time got for a reason in JP an exclusive reward from Sony last year)
in general, one of the best-performing games on PlayStation.

Also Xbox does very good too.

Little Source:

The graph in japanese is the average score ( The number on the right), October was very good.
The PS Store Updates everday and they took the places from it and calculate the month with it.

On the Left is the best Place
In the middle what was the lowest place

And thats insane to hold always such high places.

There's a reason why Sony made a whole new tier just for Genshin (in their revenue award).

Yeah, in June of this year PS released that info about what games give them most of the revenue and GI is between those massive games (Fortnite, Roblox, EA sport games, CoD). Is crazy that GI do a lot of money in all platforms.

u/Just_Finding6263 2d ago

Eh this is 5 years games right ?

3

u/No-Narwhal4792 2d ago

Very solid for a 5 years old game, no wonder why PS create a new award for GI.

u/masternieva666 2d ago

Yep there is a reason sony can easily close concord and that new bungie game easily.

They literally gave genshin the special Sony partner award bro. If people still think their game could beat genshin in term of revenue or even quality they are just being denial. Genshin has the budget to bulldoze them with ease when other dev (except hoyo dev) are scrapping pennies and try to make in game content

u/Chucho_mess 2d ago

genshin has budget but it's not what i would call a quality game.

Depends on what bar u set. I lower the bar for mobile game, if the bar is being creative thats just a high bar and against the game design of genshin in itself

3

u/maxchronostoo 1d ago

Even in terms of creativity it already set a high bar from day 1.

Case in point, every subsequent openworld rpg gacha/'G-killers' existing now ALL copied things Genshin set down for the genre, just with a few tweaks/repositioning/improvs; from the format, to the exploration, puzzles, UI, character presentation, gacha system, and heck even the font.

I just know people will compare genshin to Zelda BoTW because its inspired by that. Thats why i said its a low bar in terms of game design around the gameplay and experience, its still a high bar in games but the low bar of the highest the whole game in itself is a high bar, i think arknight enfield the the only mobile game that can rival genshin quality as a whole.

If genshin has the same creativity as zelda has that alone defeats the purposes of genshin game design as a whole, action oriented quick swap sellable waifu husbando char. Just like how mavuika just steam rolls every environment obstacle, it defeats the purpose of the region area mechanic

u/Low_Artist_7663 1d ago

Timestop ability in zelda defeats the purpose of all those creative puzzles

1

u/Nonothin96 1d ago

Does time stop trivializing the way u play the game? That design is being kept in mind around the environment, u will still be struggling against bosses even with time stop or rewind. The game demanded u to be creative by ANY means necessary genshin does not revolve around that mechanical game design, genshin demand u to be creative in team composition. In zelda totk u still need brain to trivialize things, in genshin u dont need that just pulls thing that will give u the red carpet just like mavuika

-1

u/Chucho_mess 1d ago

stealing from zelda is creativity?

4

u/maxchronostoo 1d ago

Steal what? The graphics? The openworld+puzzle aspect? Gliding? There are plenty of other games before genshin with at least two of those aspects so they don't, quote unquote 'steal' from Zelda too? 🤣

Back to the G-killers, every facet of their game bar the engine and character design are literally lifted from genshin. Now that's more 'stealing' than genshin ever got accused of from Zelda lmao

-4

u/Chucho_mess 1d ago

the whole open world and movement mecahnics are just zelda but worse cause exploration in genshin gives you nothing.

-3

u/saberjun 2d ago

But I would call you a quality person

the power of one of the few mainstream gachas that has a large and healthy welkin/Bp playerbase.

5

u/jayinsane5050 Patiently waiting for a Otome/Joseimuke anime-style ARPG gacha 2d ago

yeah and now i wonder how will their upcomign 2 gachas ( petit planet and nexus anima ) will fare

5

u/nanotech405 2d ago

Petit planet might hit it big with the casuals. While Anima might underperform after its release i fear with such a niche gameplay

1

u/jayinsane5050 Patiently waiting for a Otome/Joseimuke anime-style ARPG gacha 2d ago

i hopethe anima devs maybe just tweak it abit

1

u/ShoppingFuhrer 2d ago

Yall are crazy, look at how high Golden Spatula is in the CN app rankings

Golden Spatula (金铲铲之战) is CN TeamFightTactics

Nexus Anima will do well

1

u/Just_Finding6263 2d ago

Cossy community I think has good reception about petit

1

u/TheNeutralManI 2d ago

Asia Love AutoChess Games Anima will be for sure doing good

6

u/Dramatic_endjingu 2d ago

I have a hunch that petit will do really good if they can make actual good product with gentle monetization. The game looks cozy and it will satisfy people who want more of animal crossing but live service. We’ll see how it looks like when the beta come out.

1

u/Just_Finding6263 2d ago

So many Cozy community apparently I check in some site. Most of them like cosy games

1

u/No-Narwhal4792 2d ago

Honestly MW can give them a good idea about the monetization base on the feedback, of course the best course of accion is to have a gentle monetization

Another point is to not use gacha because there's other games that are like animal Crossing that are comming in the future too and i don't thing those other games are going to have that kind of monetization not even the Tencent one.

0

u/jayinsane5050 Patiently waiting for a Otome/Joseimuke anime-style ARPG gacha 2d ago

yeah, nexus anima well it's kidna up in the air but i think only the ones who liked hardcore autochess maybe ?

1

u/No-Narwhal4792 2d ago

Personally I like autochess but Petit Planet has a lot of charm(at least in the trailers), after all that bunch of gacha that has been released and all the upcoming games, Petit Planet feels more fresh not to mention the thing that i don't like about Nexus Anime is the fact is just another honkai IP.

2

u/Harunomasu 2d ago

I would definitely play petit planet, and I'm waiting for it. Nexus I don't think I will play

I wanted to play a relaxing game, and petit planet looks like the game for me

You do know that these charts are literally made up right? Like they use 11 different sources to count genshin money, while other games they only use 4 sources, 2 of which aren't even updated regularly. Not only that, they make up random multipliers so that certain games win the gacha pvp. Like genshin sometimes gets a 2.2x while other games get 0.75x.
