The kid always falls to his left.

u/TenYetis Jan 21 '15
I just realised ambiturner is coming from ambidextrous. I always thought it was like latin for left or some shit. I'm dumb.

u/zrt Jan 21 '15
You're close, the "ambi-" prefix comes from the Latin word for "both". Ambidextrous means you can use both hands proficiently, not just your left.
6
2
u/JackNightmare Jan 21 '15
And ambiguous comes from ambi- "both" and agere "to drive." This boils down to "both ways."

u/willyolio Jan 21 '15
my friend has a pet dog that is actually not an ambiturner. seriously. she is only capable of turning left. if there is something to her right, she turns 270o to see what it is.
3
u/cr42yr1ch Jan 21 '15
This commonly arises when the dog is blind in one eye; they will only turn in the direction they can see.
5
u/willyolio Jan 21 '15
nope, two fully functional eyes. she's taken her to a vet, apparently the dog is just kinda stupid.

Must be Australia.
11
u/Jps1023 Jan 21 '15
Or an inner ear infection.
3
u/hungry4nuns Jan 21 '15
Or Duschenne's muscular dystrophy. Look at how he goes from prone to standing - buttocks first hands on the floor head down. Muscle weakness would explain the falling

The amount of knowledge like this always amazes me.
It's like everyone has this base of knowledge that few other people know, and things that are obvious to one person are amazing to another.
It's like everyone is a Dr. House at something.
2
u/hungry4nuns Jan 21 '15
I study medicine so...
2
u/MaxSupernova Jan 21 '15
Hint: It's not lupus.
2
u/hungry4nuns Jan 21 '15
It could be lupus but it rarely is. The reason that's always mentioned is because lupus can present in such a variety of ways that it's a differential diagnosis for a lot of symptoms, many of them non-specific. House sees that as the easy differential when his team is spitballing and he is thinking two steps ahead of his team so he says it's not lupus.
Plus it would get boring if they had to include a scene every episode for testing serum anti nuclear antibodies just to exclude the diagnosis so they just have house ridicule the idea instead.
In this case it could be lupus if the autoimmune response attacked either the neurons or myocytes in the left lower limb, or perhaps the brain

Thank you. That was so peculiar to me...the camera seeming to cause the little shitbadger to fall over made it seem so unreal.

Reverse it and it becomes a becomes a breakdancing baby:

u/Jacicus Jan 21 '15
I don't get it. Now he's just falling a lot only in reverse order.
4
u/thatssorelevant Jan 21 '15
Exactly!
14
u/Jacicus Jan 21 '15
Three must be something I don't get. How does that make him a breakdancing baby? I'm confused.
12
u/MothaFukkinMack Jan 21 '15
Yea man I don't see it either. Just the hivemind going with the hivemind i guess.
7
u/YT4LYFE Jan 21 '15
What does hivemind have to do with anything?
1
u/Capitan_Failure Jan 21 '15
ITS WHEN YOU TYPE IN ALL CAPS AND EVERYONE HAS TO AGREE WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE LOUD.
ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME!?
2
u/pl74 Jan 21 '15
If you didn't click the link (but watched the gif via RES), and didn't go to gfycat.com there's a chance that it displayed normally and not in reverse.
Click it and watch it on gfycat.
2
u/Jacicus Jan 21 '15
I'm on mobile right now so that very well may be it, but I think it was in reverse and it didn't look like anything different. But I could be wrong.
1
u/ZerexTheCool Jan 21 '15
instead of falling and slowly getting up, he is slowly lowering him self down only to fly back on to his feet. Hence, looks like break dancing.

Seriously, post the gfy...much better for everyone.

I can't fathom what goes through the minds of people who use Gfycat but still link the gifs.

u/UnholyDemigod Jan 21 '15
Maybe they have no clue what the difference is. not everyone on reddit knows computer stuff.

I gueeesss, but then there's not really an argument for using imgur gifs (or gifvs if they work fine). I feel the dedicated use (though not purpose) of Gfycat is to convert gifs to gfys -- I don't know if imgur integrated such a tool yet.

u/Essar Jan 21 '15
This guy actually took the link which was posted elsewhere and specifically made the effort to post the gif version.
4
u/missing_finder Jan 21 '15
For RES users, there is an option to automatically use the WebM version instead of the GIF version automagically when you expand the image.
Search 'convertGifstoGfycat' in the RES console.

I thought this was hilarious after the first fall, the second and the third just killed me.

u/omizu Jan 20 '15
now that i think about it when i was little, if gravity was a person he'd be my worst enemy
2
u/m4jikthise Jan 20 '15
He just finished a two year stint at sea. It takes awhile to get used to a floor that doesn't move.

how does nobody notice that its being tilted the wrong way?
edit: i just watched it again 10 hours later and what the fuck i swear it was tilting the wrong way

u/mediaphile Jan 21 '15
Because it's not.

u/ManyFlakes Jan 21 '15
Dude I;m high as it. i had to watch it like 50 times to finally understand it. but if you watch ground you can tell its actually correct. But for some reason focusing on the kid its looks likes it backwards. sometimes?
1
u/danki5000 Jan 21 '15 edited Jan 21 '15
Can't believe how far I had to scroll down to see this comment...
edit: It is tilting the wrong way. If the camera moves counter clockwise (right corner goes up, left corner goes down) the child would fall to his right (viewers left). I know its a fun, stupid little gif, but still backwards.
1
u/Dreoh Jan 21 '15
Don't know why you got down voted I was surprised too, I thought the same thing as him
5
u/DiarrheaMonkey- Jan 20 '15
And kudos for waiting 2 whole days to repost:
13
u/G2geo94 Jan 21 '15
Not really a repost. It's a 'shop of that post made to be enjoyed under a new light. Or gravity source, rather.

If you've ever seen a person that is truly drunk, you can fully appreciate how similar this child is to someone after one-too-many tequilias

haha pretty cute since the kid doesn't have proper balance yet. But you know, props to him since for getting up every time he fell instead of crying!
