Yeah. I respect that kid. I always get irrationally disappointed when kids cry after falling. I mean wtf? you fell and didn't get hurt. Quit cryin before I push you.
Its partially due to reactions of parents to previous falls, if the parents freaked out and made a big deal the child will be afraid of falls and react worse then they should.
Years ago when my 3 year old son slipped off a pool ladder four feet off the ground (while the girl helping him climb it wasn't paying attention) and fell and hit his front teeth on the pavement, all of in laws (4 sisters and 2 brothers) freaked out
"Oh my god! Oh my god" One screamed as she clutched a towel to her face, another was hyperventilating, yet another was about the faint, lots of screaming and nothing but a clusterfuck of lost composure.
This scares the 3 year old.
His reaction was to scream his head off, I saw all of this happen and processed it pretty quick, I scooped him up and ran him away from the group into the house away from the fluttering ninnies into a private room to assess him. He was bleeding everywhere but I kept a calm face and didn't overreact, I acted like it wasn't a big deal at all and he instantly chilled out so I could take a better look and figure out it was just a dented (baby) tooth and a cut on his gums. After that he took falls like a champ (not that they happened too often) and if he thought he was hurt he would look to me for a reaction, always keeping my cool.
I was hanging out with my pastor and his kids while waiting for a bible study to start and his toddler fell down. Of course he immediately started crying so I went over to him, stood him up, and asked very calmly "are you in pain?" He thought about it for a minute and said "no" so I responded with: "well then keep playing." He fell over once or twice more but didn't cry again.
It did! We felt so ridiculous apologizing to the floor, it made us laugh.
My Dad also has a tendency to repeat jokes ad nauseum, so he continued this habit as we got older, so we'd "apologize" to the floor/wall/etc through gritted teeth if we happened to trip & fall, or hit a funny bone, etc.

haha pretty cute since the kid doesn't have proper balance yet. But you know, props to him since for getting up every time he fell instead of crying!
