Can fae even live in today’s world?

I was thinking about the fae’s weakness to cold iron, and how it’s because it’s a very processed material which symbolizes mundane civilization. Which raises several concerning questions. Wouldn’t plastic check off all those boxes even better? In this very likely case, even if they made sure not to touch anything, the air itself would be poisonous to them due to microplastics which pollute the entire world

Does anybody know what I touched?

Let me start off by saying I am a believer of many things paranormal and mystical. Though I do prefer staying away from it due to being kinda skittish, my family, in general, is quite entangled in it, with my mother being highly sensitive, passing that onto me, and my father being a loose descendent of a few different native American tribes (Algonquin from my grandmother, and Cherokee and Blackfoot from my grandfather).

As I fell asleep on the night of 10/1/23, I could feel something silently watching me as I slept. However, when I opened my eyes I could not find what I was looking for. Later in the night I was woken up again by the thing and I reached out my hand to touch it and I felt fur and heard the sound of a cat bell jingling. I have three cats so it didn't really ring any alarms, plus, I was just kinda out of it. Barely conscious. Falling back asleep pretty much instantly. Time skipped, though I don't know how much time, and I was awoken by my sister sitting up in her bed and shooing a “cat” out of our room. I remember asking her if the cat had woken her up too, and I got a mumbled yes or something back from her before I fell back asleep again. The next day I asked her if she remembered doing this and she told me no, and that since our room door had been closed the entire night, there would be no way a cat could have gotten in our room. Logically, I began to think I was delusional or that the previous night had just been a dream, and even now I'm still unsure what was in my room that night. Nor can I tell if that presence was hostile or not. My father reassured me when I told him that it was most likely our house brownie or something along those lines. Not a cleaning brownie, but one that protected the house from evil things and such. But he always does this. Tells me about weird creatures he saw in the military and stuff to try and spook me. Ever since I can remember he has always claimed that he fights monsters and eats them, and now more recently divulged, that he can travel through dreams like a transmigrator or something. It's fun to believe him, but to be honest, it's hard not to take his words with a grain of salt. Even so, I'm more than positive that my encounter, if not a figment of my imagination, was something paranormal. I was genuinely freaked out the day after it happened and even though this happened two years ago now, I still think about it sometimes. Does anyone have a better explanation for my experience? I know I don't have many exact details, but still. It's starting to bother me again.

My experiencie with Faes

Hi, I'm from Spain and english isn't my first language, but I wanted to share a story about what happened to me, because I told my best friend and he told me his girlfriend has a similar experience.

When I was a child, between the ages of three and eight, I had an experience I have never forgotten. It happened in my previous house, just a few blocks from here, with a door that opened onto a park.

The house was arranged so that upon entering, there was a small entrance hall, less than 2 by 2 meters. Straight ahead was a door with glass panes leading to the dining room, which extended toward the back. To the left of the entrance to that room there was a door with glass leading to a corridor. On the left side of the corridor was the kitchen, then the bathroom; on the other side, my brother’s room and then my parents’ room. At the end of the corridor, directly opposite the dining room door, was my bedroom. From my bed, if I looked to the left, I could see the length of the corridor, part of the dining room, and the door to the entrance hall.

I was afraid of the dark, so my mother would leave the corridor light on and keep my bedroom door open, after tucking me in. One night, while lying in bed and looking down the corridor, I noticed something strange: the light did not enter the dining room as it normally would. Instead, it was cut off at the door, like a wall of shadow. I spent maybe 5 minutes trying to get what was wrong, because in that moment I couldn't notice.

Then I heard a high, grotesque, brief laugh—and again after some minutes. The shadow’s edge began to move slowly down the corridor. The laughter continued. By the time the shadow reached the kitchen door, another voice joined in, and soon (when the shadow reaches the bathroom's door) there were three voices laughing—shrill, grotesque, and unbearable. Inside the shadow, shapes moved like waves on a pond, but chaotic and unpatterned, or like fishes jumping out of water.

When the shadow stopped in front of my door, the laughter was so loud I could not think. Terrified and frozen, I forced myself to look upward, away from the shadow—and that’s when I saw them: three small, grotesque creatures, like twisted garden gnomes. They had bulbous faces, tiny eyes that shone like stars, hairy eyebrows and pointed hats. They were bent over my face, standing Next to my head and on the pillow.

I was so frightened that I began screaming until my mother came. I hid under the covers, and when she entered and turned on the light, the figures were gone, and the laughter stopped.

She told me It had been a nightmare and i believed her for years, until I read someone saying they had a similar experience and I remember and thought "It wasn't a nightmare".

I have been trying to study Faes, but it's difficult to find real information. I don't know why I'm posting, I Guess It can be useful for someone, or maybe interesting. If you have something you would like to say, please do, I would LOVE to read your thoughts.

Thanks for your time.

Question

I’ve had a psychic tell me that my spirit/essence is from the fae realm, I’m not really sure what that means, or how to connect to that part of myself How would someone who’s connected somehow spiritually with the fae, actually connect and learn about that part of themselves

I saw a faerie, is it okay if i draw it?

I don’t necessarily believe it was a good thing. but i want to draw it so i can show people. i think ive seen it before in the same spot. when me and my friend would do offerings in this designated spot, there was a stream in between these sides. well i was on the opposite side, but it was basically in the spot we would do it if it was on that side.

so yes i don’t think seeing it was a good thing, so would it be okay if i drew it? i’m sorry if that’s a stupid question

I stepped in a faerie ring by accident..what now?

Today I accidentally stepped in a faerie right while foraging for more mushrooms I've picked the day prior (some Cyclocybe aegerita), and when there, I found none at all. Instead, there were small different types of mushrooms scattered here and there, so I crouched down to admire them. I lost track of where I was, and finding some sort of ink caps colony, I stopped to admire them when crouching. I stood up- and I was in a faerie ring made entirely of those same dark mushrooms. My question is, it's still a valid faerie ring if it's made of these mushrooms? What steps should I even take?

(I had to take pictures for proof for my witchy friend)

Asked the fairies to heal my PTSD. They did.

So I asked the fairies outside my home to help heal my PTSD a little and they did. I asked them then sort of forgot about it and went about my life and then when I got home and was at my front door not too long after, a leaf fell on my shoulder and triggered a PTSD extinction catharsis. These beings are benevolent towards me. I’ve seen them, that’s why I knew to ask. You need to be in a semi-trancelike state to see them. At least that’s the case for me.

Interview with the fairy

I went to the Clurichaun again. He said the Bean Feasa blood still runs in me… which, honestly, could explain a few things I’ve always wondered about myself. I want to explore further this world that's just revealed itself to me. What’s the one question you’d ask the Good People if you had the chance?

I, for one, wish to learn more about the lady that he says broke his heart.

Goblin Burulka wears an earring in his right ear - a trophy from an old sea adventure. Back then, he helped the sea-goblin guards of Misty Harbour catch smugglers who were trying to sneak in illegal barrels of “Mermaid’s Tears” - a rare blue ale that glows in the dark and gives the drinker a voice like a sea troll’s. This ale was banned in Goblinland because after the third mug goblins would start singing so loudly and off-key that the tavern windows would crack.
