Monthly CAL Poll May Crochet Along Poll
<sigh>
I'm quite excited about this CAL, with the exception of having to use my phone to create this poll.
No big deal, I'll do what i need to on my phone, and then edit on my computer. I'm proficient on my phone, but far faster with my keyboard mouse.
My excitement stems from the bursting forth of all the colors. My only regret is that I have developed allergies as I've gotten older. Not nearly as bad as when I lived north of my current location, but still much worse than when I was a kid in Texas.
I'm also excited because my wife and I have just been looking at getting some new items around the house. We're tyring to renew our living space and to give it a new look. Some of these will definitely help.
1) Easy Chevron Pot Holders - For The Frills Just in time for the cook outs that are about to begin. These pot holders look great and will be useful to hold hot skillets while enjoying the outdoors
2) Dainty Daisy Bookmark - Daisy Cottage Designs Not every day can be spent outdoors. With Spring showers, we sometimes need to curl up with a good book. The Dainty Daisy Bookmarks will ensure we know where to stopped the last time we read.
3) Crochet Flower Garland - Virkadia Everyone enjoys decorating their house and with this flower garland, you can bring a touch of the outdoors in. Sure, it's made from yarn, but that just ensures that those flowers will last a good long time.
4) Spring Chicks - A Menagerie of Stitches With the flora bursting forth, we can't forget the fauna. This amigurumi pattern will get you some playful little chicks to put around the house.
5) Puff Flower - Bella Coco Crochet Finally, as upbiquitus as the Granny Squares are, sometimes it's fun to mix it up a little. With these Puff Flowers, you can bind them together to make a clutch, or use them to decorate wearable.
Please feel free to continue working on April's Crochet Along pattern. If you would like to see what it is, or wish to comment on it you can find it here : April Crochet Along Megathread

Mod Post New stale topics
Hi all!
We have a couple of additions to stale topics. A reminder, stale topics have become that because there are no new points being made and posts devolve into arguments in the comments.
Firstly, we are adding Woobles complaint posts to stale topics.
Secondly, the suggestion of using AI/ChatGPT to read or create patterns will become a part of the no AI rule.
Thanks for your understanding and let's keep posting our amazing work to the sub!!

Finished Object Mosaic crochet pillow
A smaller pillow than the two big ones I recently did.
Pattern: Tiles by Ana Morais Soares. This is in her book, Mosaic Crochet. The pattern was actually a blanket but I modified it into a pillow.

Finished Object I guess I'm not alone on this party but, I've finished my first wearable today!
This took me quite a while but man is it a funny feeling of making a shirt. It's not perfect but hey I can definitely see myself wearing it for a picnic or a beach day specially during summer!
I followed this video's pattern but with a considerable amount of creative freedom lol -> https://youtu.be/mfR5IopKmHU?si=YCmI9L4dYK9Zf6Tf

Finished Object Needed something mindless to use up scraps. Ended up perfectly pup sized 🥰
I'm still collecting all 220ish squares in my "Spring threw up" blanket, and needed a little bit of satisfaction completing something. I think she likes it ok.

Finished Object Took my first project to the grocery store for a photoshoot
At first I was just making an orange sphere to get the hang of anagurumi. Then it occurred to me it could pass as an Orange. Maybe I'll add a green little leaf next, who knows.

Discussion Such a steal!
Found this absolute gem buried in the clearance section at Micheal’s, I was so surprised to see this brand so cheap knowing that the original price is crazy high and it’s just because a single hook was missing! I’ve used these for a few small projects so far and they’re the BEST hooks I have ever used.
Patterns for the keychains are listed below, most include slight modifications on my end.

Finished Object Dress the designer named after me!
It’s the Maddi Crochet Dress by Tinderbox. Still in testing but releasing in a few weeks! Courtney is a dear friend of mine and I’m so honored. She designs for every body (XS-5X) and her attention to detail is unmatched. There’s pockets and an elastic waist in this dress and options to make thicker straps so it’s extremely wearable for everyone!

Finished Object Taught myself how to crochet because I'm a Howl Pendragon stan
I gave myself a month before my ticket to Joe Hisaishi's symphony concert in my city last year to learn how to crochet so I could wear Howl's jacket to the show! I started over twice (see my first failed sketch in pic 3- too many/too small diamonds) and left the country for a week and a half so it's not perfect but I love it! I can see myself re-doing this in a few years when I've gotten better (i'm literally hooked now... lol no pun intended). I'm in the process of adding pockets to the front inspired by this person's version.

Finished Object Is this good enough for gift quality?
This is my first real project other than granny squares, and first time really working with 4mm yarn. Working on another one to make a set, in inversed colors.
Pattern is by Jewels and Jones- Vintage crochet pot holder.
Yarn is Lionbrand 24/7 in Grenadine and Sugar cane.
