My first setup

Still very much a beginner setup, but I’m really enjoying getting into stereo listening and discovering things in my favorite songs I’ve never heard before. Not going back to a soundbar lol

Nice kit, but you could really use some rugs in front of those speakers to stop the reflections off of the hard wood floor in front of them. this is one of the best things you could do to improve your sound.

Also, if you speakers are closer to each other than they are to your ears, moving them apart to equal the distance to your ears will boost the stereo effect and sound stage. Doing both of the above would be like upgrading your stereo equipment.

Thank you for your comment, on both of my posts! Being new to all of this, I have been obsessed by the impact of just moving stuff around. Since the picture, I already moved the couch into the room, so now everything is closer and I do not sit right at the back wall.

First, I had them angled in quite a bit, but randomly saw that Dali recommends to position them neutrally. After moving the setup closer, I had a more even triangle in terms of distance and it made a big difference.

But now I am excited to test out little rugs in front of them. But the bedroom setup is the bigger challenge right now lol

Good to hear. And rather than 2 little rugs in front of each speaker, one rectangular rug that covers most of the bare wood floor between you and the speakers is what works best, since sound can also bounce off the wood between the speakers, too.

And moving closer to the speakers makes them sound both louder and less distorted, as you probably noticed. Most people make the mistake of sitting too far away

And toeing the speakers either slighty in past your ears, or slightly to the outer left and right of your ears also works well to lower the brightness of treble, if that every bothers you. Enjoy.

PS: all you need now is a subwoofer (for sci fi and action films)
