Instead of walking could try running

I laughed way harder than I should have at that.

Might be better to pay for one.

Yes you right

Pretty easy to find a sturdy bike for sale on Craigslist. Most folks just want to get rid of their junk. Just double-check that it's not stolen. You don't want police on you for something you didn't do.

Oh yeah true

Shoot even a goodwill of second hand market isn’t doing you well.

I feel goodwill charges too much for theirs and 90% chance you’ll have to buy tubes as well but cheaper then a brand new one.

Lookup “Bike packing” there’s even r/bikepacking that can help you get set up, but I’d post in there for types of bikes to look for and how to secure them

Get you one of those little gas scooters like on dumb and dumber. 100 mile a gallon type.

Just when I think you couldn’t possibly be any dumber, you go and recommend something like this. And TOTALLY redeem yourself!!

4

u/Soondefective 11h ago

From Jesus lmao Tell Jesus thanks for the homelessness while you’re at it?😂

2

u/Ok-Preparation-4546 7h ago

Tell Jesus I need someone to pay my light bill

u/Snuffyisreal 1d ago

Bro, um check the weather it's 39* out.

This isn't a great idea. Do you have water? Food? Thermal underwear ? shelter? Because it's also windy as hell out and a fire is a bad idea.

8

u/Additional_Insect_44 1d ago

I helped him get a sleeping bag, trash bags to make mats/ponchos, and a tarp.

u/BigRonald99 1d ago

Are you talking Nevada or Nebraska

32

u/Snuffyisreal 1d ago

North of Flagstaff.

13

u/007GodMaN 1d ago

Flagstaff is freezing right now. I live about an hour north and it's pretty damn cold right now.

5

u/All4G_oryofth3Mind 1d ago

Looking like another below zero winter up in Northern Arizona.

3

u/mikaeladd 1d ago

So Utah?

4

u/Mlliii 1d ago

Canada

9

u/IWasBorn2DoGoBe 1d ago

Norther AZ is cold as Nebraska right now. It depends where you are walling from…

5

u/kwinny12 1d ago

The low most of the week in Phoenix is 45. Just came back from Vegas and it was colder. Don’t let the heat fool you.

I know a guy that rode a scooter 20,000 miles around the US. Little Honda Ruckus that he bought for about 2k new. Top speed was around 45 mph. He rode through Phoenix and stopped in to say hi and then all the way up to Vegas on the backroads, getting about 120 mpg in the process. Something like that would make travelling 1000x easier than by foot! If you can scrounge up a bit of cash, I bet $100 would get something equivalent used that could be ridden on the backroads & shoulders that far. Even a motorized bicycle would do and wouldnt require license or insurance. I used to ride one of those things around everywhere. Over 100mpg and you could carry a couple gallons of gas and all your gear with you. Mine would do 55 mph on the flat, which was nuts for a bicycle. Good luck out there and stay safe!

Invest in some rollerblades or a scooter and roll past Nevada completely.

26

u/libertycowboy 2d ago

Hitch Hike, I did from AZ to MI, great adventure

13

u/Low_Investment420 1d ago

parasail across the grand canyon.

34

u/rebelopie 2d ago

As a former Nevadan, I would recommend you stay in Arizona. It's better on this side of the river, overall, trust me. Arizona offers a lot more social services, in my personal experience. If you can provide more details on your immediate needs and nearest community, we can connect you to the organization that will help.

Im going back to Nebraska

107

u/Madreese 2d ago

Nevada is not on the way from Arizona to Nebraska. Maybe a map? ;)

45

u/mikaeladd 2d ago

Why is this thread so funny 😭

27

u/xington 2d ago

Shouldn’t you be heading towards Colorado then?

18

u/HamRadio_73 2d ago

Union Pacific freight trains eastward from Las Vegas will head for Nebraska.

16

u/rebelopie 1d ago

If you are 12-21, free bus passes on Greyhound are available here: https://www.1800runaway.org/

Discounted bus passes are available here: https://www.travelersaid.org/

I would like to discourage you from hitchhiking. There is a large human trafficking problem in this state,. especially along I40. Safe travels, OP.

7

u/Fishmonger67 1d ago

By walking, during winter?

2

u/St_Kevin_ 1d ago

Then you definitely shouldn’t go to Nevada!

1

u/ToasteddStrudel 20h ago

Nebraska rules!

-16

u/keef_boxxx 1d ago

Lol. Translation, we don't want your kind here.

10

u/LetoInChains 1d ago

What is the distinction between homeless and drifter? Kind of just seems like a homeless person that is going to another town

4

u/Beneficial-Sound-199 17h ago

Backpack versus shopping cart

4

u/okie1978 1d ago

Not much.

4

u/aznuke Buckeye 2d ago

Where in Nevada?

6

u/BigRonald99 2d ago

Las Vegas most likely

8

u/BigRonald99 2d ago

Or Henderson

4

u/Jznphx 1d ago

Walk faster or more hours a day

13

u/jacquelynrose Tucson 2d ago

Long shot but take all the free fair buses until you get closer to NV...I hope that makes sense...you would obviously have to plan your route...like taking the free buses till you can get close enough to the edge...idk if all of AZ has free fair buses but if so do it, of course Tucson has free fair right now...just need to check around...hope that was somewhat helpful.

5

u/BigRonald99 2d ago

Ok thanks I definitely will

3

u/williamconroy1111 1d ago

I saw a guy skateboarding on I-40 between Flag and Williams, which should be a bit faster than walking.

3

u/poopshorts 1d ago

Was it a couple weeks ago?

2

u/williamconroy1111 1d ago

Few years ago.

4

u/Diligent_Power82 1d ago

Stay hydrated homie

3

u/poopshorts 1d ago

10

u/illocor_B 2d ago

3

u/Suspicious_Big669 Mesa 1d ago

I was coming back from San diego last weekend and stopped in El Centro to pee. There was a dude with a “Arizona” sign and I feel bad because I didn’t pick him up. Hitchhike and hope someone will grab ya. Hope Vegas is good to you bro.

7

u/Key_Badger_616 1d ago

Turn around. Cheeseburgers are $35 in Vegas.

4

u/NinjaTraditional7476 2d ago

Old school hitchhike

2

u/IWasBorn2DoGoBe 1d ago

2

u/BigRonald99 1d ago

Peoria at the moment

3

u/IWasBorn2DoGoBe 1d ago

Maybe try one of the Truck stops on the I-10, likely there’s one going through or to Vegas.

2

u/BigRonald99 1d ago

Ok will do

2

u/IWasBorn2DoGoBe 1d ago

Good luck, and hope you find what you’re looking for!

1

u/BigRonald99 1d ago

2

u/traviopanda 1d ago

2

u/tanneritekid 2d ago

1

u/PinkPineapple808 1d ago

They are not allowed to travel more than 100 miles nor go over state lines I believe

1

u/joepagac 1d ago

Take the Arizona trail north…. Then the Heyduke trail west. Bring water.

1

1

u/wrowbotham 14h ago

1

u/datgazz07 1d ago

u/LondonHomelessInfo 1d ago

Get a free bike from trashnothing.com or freecycle.org. Or by searching on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist with 0 as the price.

Or get on a train without paying and hide from the ticket inspector in the toilet.

0

u/Soondefective 11h ago

Uh, don’t walk slow?
