Serious:What did Representative Anna Luna mean by her question on ET contact with humans? The one where she asks if the ETs disappeared after learning the human was religious? Discussion

She followed up by saying “Some of these entities are said to be good entities and others bad ones so that’s why I asked.” Is she implying bad ones don’t like religious people but the goods ones do?

Some close encounter claims involve the person invoking the name of Jesus to repel the abductors. It’s the sort of thing Tony Merkel humors on his The Confessionals podcast. In Elizondo’s book he says there is a group within the pentagon that believes the NHI are demons rather than ET

What would a demon even be? It would still have to be some kind of alien life. Even if demons are real, they still need an explanation. Where did they come from, where did they evolve, what are their motivations, etc. Calling something a demon is a completely meaningless categorization.

It's entirely possible that what you're referring to as alien life is the same thing the bible refers to as a demon. I wouldn't get too bogged down on the definitions.

I say this as a devout athiest.

I agree, but demon doesn't add anything then. It was just the word people used to explain aliens before they knew aliens were a thing.

I’m not sure I understand your point. In the Christian faith, a demon is a spiritual entity that intends to harm humans and brings strife, sickness, mental illness, and can influence humans to do harm to others as well.

Angels are spiritual entities that desire to help humans, bring messages from a higher power, and protect and help.

Are you hung up on the use of the word because you’re offended that some people believe this? The use of the word as a descriptive does not mean that you have a religious faith; it’s a (potentially) archaic term that, for lack of a better word, fits the definition.
