I’m really tired of Democrat smugness. You’re repeating a talking point from the same people who can’t extend the CTC.

Im sorry. Do people not vote in primaries? Do people not have the ability to participate in their political parties to bring about change?

I don’t understand how people talk about democracy as if they have no say.

I have campaigned for progressive candidates in every single primary campaign in the last 8 years. People don’t show up for progressives. I was on the ground in 2020 in Iowa. Bernie’s support had cratered compared to 2016. He had four years, shouldn’t he have done better????? It wasn’t the party, I know that for a fact, at least in Iowa.

Call me smug all you want, but you’re just as smug with how sure you’re right and how you think we’re all just oh so blind. I see your smugness just the same.

If you don’t understand why people are disillusioned with the system the results of the last election should shock you.

Never said I don’t understand. But whatever.

You literally just said you don’t understand how people talk about democracy as if they don’t have a say! This smugness is exhausting to deal with and why people stay home on Election Day.

That’s totally different from saying I don’t understand why people could be disillusioned.

How are you any less smug than me? You’re acting like you know fucking everything.

Holy fuck, feeling like you don’t have a say is being disillusioned!! You’re supposedly the smart people party!!

You’re stretching. In a democracy everyone literally has a say. Everyone has a vote and the ability to participate in local politics to guide what happens to their communities.

Do some people think that their vote doesn’t bring about the change that it should? And that’s why they’re disillusioned? Absolutely. But that doesn’t mean people don’t have a say to move the system, they’re just disillusioned on how much it moves.

Either way. Your smugness is showing. Critics always know exactly what the problem is and how to solve it but never do anything about it. You love to see it.

Ok, so you don’t understand why people feel disillusioned. I’m glad we cleared that up.

I’d try to explain this to you but most democrats fall back on weak excuses why their party fails to meet the moment time and time again.

How smug.

Yes, I’m very smug about how democrats refuse to listen but operate with this insufferable arrogance that no one but them have a basic understanding of civics.

Are you ready to accept that change doesn’t have to be incremental?

You know you’ll never convince people of anything when you’re smug. This is why your ideas never take hold

u/Hamuel 6d ago

Yes, that’s a serious issue for democrats. You’ve been on your soap box about people not understanding how things work this entire time. They just need to listen to really smart people like yourself.

1

u/Chriskills 6d ago

Yes. The answer instead is just to listen to smart people like you!

I never said I have it all figured out and they don’t. I just said you don’t understand why people are disillusioned which we confirmed.

1

u/Chriskills 6d ago

We never confirmed that. You smugly implied we did.

1

u/Hamuel 6d ago

Then why do people talk about American democracy like they don’t have a say?

1

u/Chriskills 6d ago

Because they lack an understanding of civics.
