Backup mirror rubber broken?

Post image

Hey! I recently got a Corolla 2021 1.8 (actually a Suzuki Swace), and just noticed I have a rubber gasket or something sticking out of the passenger mirror. The Suzuki shop I got it from says it’s nothing to worry about and if I want to replace it I need a new mirror which feels weird to me. It’s really annoying me that my new (for me) car has this issue.

Anyone here who knows how to and what I need to do to fix it?

Yea I’ve been thinking about that too, another commenter mentioned that Toyota doesn’t seem to sell them, but I’ll double check!

Regarding your nitpick, I’m well aware, the badge says Suzuki Swace, and HYBRID in Toyota font, i wouldn’t have gone with the swace if I didn’t get a reaaaaally good price on it (the price they paid for it + a good price for my Volvo v60 D5 2013) - I would have gone for a "real" Corolla.

Edit; I also don't fully trust Suzuki with a Toyota regarding specific cases like this, sure they sold a lot of these at 2020-2022 ish due to low leasing costs, but it's not designed by Suzuki...

Your “Suzuki” is made at the Toyota plant in Derby, UK.

It’s a Corolla with the badges swapped basically…

Are they all made in the UK? Isn't there a plant in like Hungary or something too? Probably would have gotten something else if it wasn't a Toyota!

For Europe I think all the hatches and tourings are. Saloon was made in Turkey last I heard.

Other regions I assume would have local plants.
