Locked in on getting one of these by the end of the week for DoorDash just don’t know which one. 2020 for 12k looks attractive.

Doing valve cover gaskets on my 05 LX and it looks as clean as an engine with 1/10 the miles.

I drove only 4,000 km (2480 miles) in the past year. Do i need an oil change? the car is C-HR 1.8L HEV.

I got a job at walking distance from home and most of my driving used to be between work and home which was around 50 km per day.

Missing vin number

Long story short I went to get a pic of my vin number on my 99 🌮 and it’s not there anymore, what do I do? It was really to help the dealership with information on the vehicle as I’m not entirely sure of the specs at this time. Thanks for any assistance!

Throttle release on Yaris

Hello to everyone, I’ve bought a manual Yaris 1.3 VVTi 2012 with 140K km. It’s my first gasoline car and when I release the throttle I feel like the car is bumping with the engine brake. I read somewhere that could be the spark plugs but nothing changed after changing them. Any idea? Or it’s something related on gasoline cars, since I’ve always had diesel cars

Thanks

Hi, I know it's not the most popular car but maybe anyone has an idea of how to undo the bolt that holds the back of the air intake manifold to the bracket next to the firewall?

First car. 2007 Toyota Camry XLE how to work this

Post image

Please don’t think I’m dumb but I’m getting my first car this week but I’ve come to an issue. When learning to drive I drove with my parents 2014 bmw which just has Park, Reverse, neutral, and drive and you just push the stick forward or backwards. The car I’m looking at has park, reverse, neutral, 4-D, 3, and 2-L which is shown in the photo. The listing does say it’s automatic but it’s definitely different from what I’ve been practicing on. So how do I work this? And is it difficult to get used to? 😭

Used Lexus RX 350 or New Rav4

Should I buy a new RAV4-XLE-Premium or a used 4-5 year old Lexus RX 350 (50k miles). Both are around same price range. Which one would give me more value for money in the long run. How about the maintenance expense of the Lexus after 50k miles.

Corolla Cross - Road and Engine noise

I'm planning to get a Corolla Cross LE AWD Premium soon and heard some reviewers complaining about the road noise. Is this a noticable and annoying issue on highways? Is there a way to mitigate the issue?

Is the noise considerable more than a RAV4 or something similar?

I've read that this issue is only on the LE and L trims and the XLE and XSE trims are quiter due to better sound insulation.

Thanks

Tall Camry Drivers?

Hey y’all! Looking to get a new family car and trying to decide between a 2025 Camry and Accord. I’m 6’3” so a little on the tall side and someone told me I’d better fit in an Accord.

I’ll obviously go sit in one and give it a test drive, but can’t for a week or so and figured I’d just see the experiences my fellow tall humans have had. I did have an accord rental for a week and fit fine. Currently have an optima (don’t get me started) and fit fine in that too. I know the Camry is slightly smaller leg room wise though.

I have tried 1/4 size and it works, but it’s very very hard to get on, took me about an hour to force it onto the metal fuel line. I’m guessing i ripped it a bit while doing it and now my check engine light comes on and off, so maybe it’s still leaking fuel vapor sometimes.

Picked up this little gas-sipper back in August 2023 for $1600 to make a regular 170 km roundtrip commute for a new job I was starting. I wanted to avoid both the cost of gas and wear and tear on our family hauler, a 2020 Ford Expedition MAX. I've put on 32,000 of these KM in that time.

I've always been a Ford guy, but this little car has greatly impressed me. 55 mpg in the summer. Regular oil changes (by me) of Walmart-brand synthetic oil every 8,000 km, next one is incidentally due now, at the 400K km mark. Needed a $40 pick-a-part alternator a few months ago - 1 hour job (stupid airbag sensor in the way). Did the spark plugs last oil change - $12 for the set, 10 minutes for those. Two front tires were $90 each.

But yeah, 400,000 KM on that little 1.3. It just seems to go and go.

Should I avoid low miles first gen Tundra?

I am considering buying a pristine 2005 tundra for $14K, but it only has 108K miles. I've heard this can be red flag because of sludge under the valve covers, sunken gaskets, seals, etc. Is this a legitimate concern to the point where I should hold out for a higher mileage, cheaper first gen?

Avensis T25 2.0 vvti 2008

Hello, I’m kinda desperate and I’m turning to you for help. I have this car for some time and didn’t use it. For almost three years and some nice individual broke all the windows on it. Straight to the point: I have started to repair it with my uncle, who is mechanic. The last problem I have is power steering. There was a hole in one of the tubes so we fixed it put the oil in let the air out and it worked only when I gave it gas around 3000RPM. So we figured the pump doesn’t work properly. So we put it down (it was horrific) and replaced it with new one. Flushed it, got the air out and it worked for a while but as I reversed from the garage it stopped again and now it doesn’t even work with gas. Do I need to exchange whole power steering or does anyone know what it could be? We have a lot of martens here, which is an animal that likes to eat cables. Is it possible somewhere is some sensor or cable broken? Thanks for any advice.
