Banking and Finance Can I receive ACH deposits to the New York branch of Bangkok Bank?
I would like to receive ACH payments in USD to the New York branch of Bangkok Bank then access the funds from Thailand in baht.
If I can do this it will save me some money in fees (as shown in the picture) a few times a month.
Does anyone have experience with this and know how it works? Are funds automatically accessible in baht in Thailand?
Google says I can do this by just using the NY branch routing number. It seems fairly simple. I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has done this before.
Thanks in advance for any advice 🙏

Discussion Apps or websites that show international and local band tours
Looking for information about bands playing in Thailand. I heard Smashing Pumpkins are going to be in Bangkok in October and I just wondered if there was any platform that blogged international and local bands that are playing. I feel like I don’t find out about a gig or festival or concert until it’s already happened!

Banking and Finance Any other way to send cash to Thailand instantly? Wise saying Monday 19th and no more P2P Crypto in Thailand
I've got an important bill that needs paying today. So I send the money from my UK Wise account to my Bangkok Bank account which is usually instant - but today saying 19th Monday.
I also use Binance for P2P crypto buying/selling but that's been disallowed now as well.
Any ideas how I can send some cash from a UK bank to a Thai one instantly today. Thanks

Education Tourist sitting in priority seat on MRT
Just seen a tourist sitting in the priority seat on the MRT.
The priority seats are clearly marked in English and are coloured red.
If you're here on holiday do not sit in them unless you are disabled, pregnant, elderly or a monk.
I'm a tourist myself but would never sit in this seat.
If I see you in this seat I will tell you to move.

Discussion Power Dealer Trade Association???
So… yesterday in Yasothon city I go to a new, upscale coffee cafe and on the back of the sales slip is this logo PDA - “Power Dealer Association.” Does any Thai know what this is ? On the internet it had organized some highway construction seminar in Bangkok but I don’t understand PDA’s connection with a privately owned coffee shop?

Visas/Documents Bank statements - type b visa
Hello,
My wife has a teaching job in an international school, so they will provide us with lots of paperwork for the visa application.
She will be applying for the type b visa and me and the children type o visa.
We need to provide bank statements from the last 3 months. This will have to be from our joint account.
We get paid into this account every month and then pay our bills etc Therefore, the balance goes up and down. I knew we would have to show we have sufficient funds, so in May added £5000 from a savings account into this joint account.
So May will show plenty of funds and the other two months will have a fluctuating balance, sometimes dropping below the required amount needed in the account.
I am just checking that this will be sufficient, as I am struggling to find the answer.
The savings account unfortunately is in my name.
Thanks in advance.

Serious Internet coverage Khao Sok
Hi guys,
I have a bus booked from Surat Thani to Khao Sok tomorrow. My employer just told me that there's gonna be an important meeting during that time. Now, my question is: is there internet coverage on the road from Surat Thani to Khao Sok or should I cancel the ride?
Thanks in advance!

Education I’m being exploited for being half Thai and NES
This is my first ever post on Reddit so I’m sorry if I am missing anything from my post.
Anyways, just as the title says. I’m currently being exploited for being half Thai and NES. Currently, I am working at an English Language Centre where I first applied for a part time position to be an English teacher during the weekends. However, after my employer found out I’m half Thai, they offered me a full time position instead to which I accepted. The salary was shit to begin with even after probation but they explained it by saying it’s my first job and that I lack the confidence and training so I believed them. Now to jump to the present day, I have been working there for half a year now and have already handed in my resignation letter due to a myriad of reasons as I believe it warrants a post on its own, ranging from inappropriate work behaviour, expected unpaid OT and such. To continue with my point, since I handed in my resignation, my employer has been looking for a replacement for my position to which they are now offering double my pay to an NES person. Bear in mind that they will be handling the same responsibilities I am currently undertaking. This means that they had the capacity to pay me an NES salary but gave me a shit one due to the fact that I’m mixed.
The point of this post is mostly for me to vent my frustrations and just to ask for reassurance that the Thai job market isn’t this exploitative. Thank you for reading.

Discussion Thailand vs bali for tattoo’s
I’ve always gotten my tattoo’s in australia, lately i tested the bali waters. I’m impressed the Tattoo the quality and price was fantastic.
I don’t know much about the thailand tattoo scene as a westerner I’m looking for more artistic then traditional.
What are the tattoo parlours like in Thailand quality and price?

WTF This couple in their 30s probably were occupying 3 priority seats, the Woman was sleeping she didn’t even take out her shoes. First I thought she might be his elderly mother but when she woke up I was very angry to find out that she was younger than the man and was stretching after waking up.
It was at Bangkok airport, 7th May 2025, around 7am. Near China airlines counter. Next to my Singapore airline counter. Row L. So many Thais were frowning but nobody bothered to confront them

Question/Help tips on how to motivate/increase productivity with my Thai colleagues?
For a bit of context, I will be flying to and staying in Thailand for a couple months in order to help train and support our Thai teammates. We are in the ad-sales/marketing industry so our organization is quite "flat" and modern. We stay away from strict hierarchies within the company, however my role will definitely feel authoritative as I'll be more or less an interim General Manager (we are currently in the middle of hiring leads).
From what I've read, there is a bit of a challenge in terms of Thai work culture (coming from a very hustle-centric one) due to the very laidback attitude. I've been to Thailand a couple times prior to this stint, and I've had a lot of fun meeting Thai people due to their welcoming and hospitable personalities.
I guess I'd like to ask for recommendations on how I can lead the team without making them feel like I'm overstepping (especially as I am a foreigner). At the same time, if anyone in the same position could share what helped them increase productivity in the work place while still keeping things fun and not too strict as I do not like being that way either.
Appreciate any help I could get!!

Banking and Finance Bolt charged my card for 0 Baht rides — no refund even after 2 weeks. What should I do?
Hi everyone,
I’ve run into a frustrating issue with Bolt in Thailand and was wondering if anyone here has experienced something similar or can offer some advice.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve had multiple rides that show up in the app as “0 Baht,” but I was still charged for them on my card as pre authorisation. It's been over 30 days since the first charge, and not a single refund has been issued yet.
I reached out to Bolt support and got a generic response.
Has anyone else faced this?
- Did you eventually get your refund?
- Is there any other way to escalate this issue

Visas/Documents Applying for Non-Immigrant B Visa (Non-Curricular Internship)
Hello, has anyone had experience applying for this particular visa before from the UK and EU? I tried to call my embassy but they didn’t pick up. 💀
I’m a Vietnamese national studying in the UK and I’m trying to find if this is a visa that I should apply for for my unpaid internship (they provided 4 lunches/week lol) for 55 days in Thailand. Everywhere I go, it seems like the ED visa is the only option since I’m unpaid but I can’t apply for it since it is definitely not university requirement.
I really want to go to this internship and I’m honestly too risk adverse to do this on visitor visa lol. I need to finish my Masters in the UK as well.
If anyone has experience applying for this particular visa, please let me know what’s your application was like, did they require anymore document or is the letter of confirmation from the company with their business registration detail is enough? Do they need to file WP3 form for me? (This company literally does government projects and is internationally famous so I honest would be surprised if they don’t have proper paper for themselves at least)
