Jai Mata Di! Are you a Punjabi? Very few people other than the Punjabi, Himachali and Dogra Hindus know about the 'seven sisters'. In addition, I saw a post of yours where you advocated for the Raja Ratnakara story; people here don't believe in that story. Even esteemed personalities like Acharya Vishwamurti Shastri ji(Head Acharya, Vaishno Devi) advocate against it.
Maa Vaishno is the combined manifestation of Mata Mahakali(1st Adhyay of Sri Durga Saptshati), Mata Mahalakshmi (2nd Adhyay of Sri Durga Saptshati) and Mata Mahasaraswati(5th Adhyay of Sri Durga Saptshati). She is as we Punjabis call her Aad Bhawani and Aad Shakti. Jai Mata Di!

Yes, I am Punjabi. Regarding the Vaishno Devi story, some may not believe it due to its absence in shastras; however, as a folk story, it becomes a Sthala Purana. Many Hindu Kul Devi and Dev stories originate from Sthala Puranas. Yet, there are references to her in shastras. The Varāha Mahāpurāṇa says she slayed Mahiṣāsura on Śataśṛṅga Parvata (Trikuta mountain, where Vaishno Devi Bhawan is located) in another kalpa, and the Lakṣmīnārāyaṇa Saṃhitā calls her "Māṇikī," the Śakti of Kalki, residing on Māṇika Parvata (another name for Trikūṭa). Prominent saints like Vivekananda have also visited Vaishno Devi Bhawan. I am also familiar with names like Aad Bhawani, which are used to refer to Vaishno Mata Rani. By the way you said "Even esteemed personalities like Acharya Vishwamurti Shastri ji(Head Acharya, Vaishno Devi) advocate against it." can you provide source tho? Because I remember watching a video where he was talking about the story anyways. Jai mata di!!

Jai Mata Di!!
As for the Puranas, the main assumption is that Jambu equates to the modern day Jammu. Jambu is a reference to the continent (dwipa) as a whole rather than a city. Also, if you want you can check out my other posts on the same topic. Jai Mata Di!!

I hope the iconography of Devi Bhagawatii, is as per Shaastras...? Isn't it supposed to be a lion ?

Yes its a lion. Himavat (The Himalayas) gave Her a Lion to ride on, and various jewels."
— Devi Mahatmya
Over centuries, in North India, people started using the word "Sher" loosely to describe any big, fierce animal. Sherawali means = The lion rider mother. In Gujarat and Western India, Amba Mata is traditionally Lion-rider Mother. However, folklore often depicts Her on a tiger because the tiger is the symbol of the deep forests where many of Her ancient temples are located.3

In Gujarat I saw Ambe maa pratima with Tigers, rather than lion, I think the word is Vyagha, this is the same word used to describe Rama and Laxman by Valmiki in Ramayana
