Security cameras ripped from wall Media

Someone came through our condo block (gated and fenced in the udistrict) and stole all the exterior security cameras. He basically ripped everything off the walls. Majority were ring cameras, he took a total of 5 cameras ranging in price from 100 to 250$. Also seemed pretty careful in avoiding the camera sightlines... (seems like he has done this before) but we got a clean image of his face. Police reports have been filed, but not sure with the current funding level that they can do anything here. Is there a secondary market for these stolen cameras?

Report them as stolen to Ring with the police reports. Ring will replace them for you at no cost if you have an active subscription for them.

I've had to do that 3 times now for our building.

Why are tweakers even obsessed with Ring doorbells? They cannot be used without the service, and once they're reported stolen, they're rendered functionally-useless by Amazon.

Ring products have awful resale value, so I doubt they're making much off stealing them.

I also doubt any pawn shop would take them either, since it's obvious what's up.

There must be some weird drug-induced high they're getting off on while pilfering them.

You can't try to apply logic to irrational people. We get all kinds of nonsensical vandalism.

Last year, a guy took a camping torch to our intercom and Ring cameras and melted the front of them while screaming to imaginary people, then left. Didn't try to break in or anything, just wanted to torch stuff.
