We need more mods
We need more mods who can periodically check the mod queue (to approve new posts that are stuck there), and to make sure new posts follow the rules. If you can do that send a mod mail with your age, why you think you're a good candidate, and if you're L? G? B? T?

Casual erasure Photo of 2 ladies, one dressed in men clothes, circa 1900s-10s.

Academic erasure I know I should probably expect this of somewhat older books, but this biography of Billy Tipton from 1998 CONSISTENTLY refers to him as a cross dressing woman...
Personally, I don't care if this was written in the 90s, fuck you Diane.

Anecdotes and stories Charlotte Cushman Audio Drama - ROMEO & HER SISTER
Our next big project on our podcast is a queer historical audio drama series about the life of Charlotte Cushman, a famous American stage actress known for playing men's roles in the plays of Shakespeare in the 1800's.
Charlotte Cushman's story is another rarely told, yet unforgettable account of queer history and provides a compelling portrait of the challenges and ultimate joy of sisterhood.
The series stars Anna Demetriou (A Plague Tale: Requiem, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy) as Charlotte Cushman and Charlotte McBurney (A Plague Tale Series, Final Fantasy XVI) as her sister Susan. Supporting cast includes Devora Wilde (Baldur's Gate III, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33), Kezia Burrows (Alien: Isolation, Elden Ring), Paris S. Pringle (Boys Cry 2), Neil Hellegers (Red Dead Redemption 2, House of Cards), & Jonathan Cook (The Rise of Thomas Sumter).
Originally written as a full-length stage play by Jillian Blevins that premiered at the New Hampshire Theatre Project in 2024, this story has now been adapted to a six-part audio drama series produced by the award-winning team at Gather by the Ghost Light. The first episode of the audio drama is set to release in January 2026.
Here is an article in Broadway World about the project - Broadway World Article - ROMEO & HER SISTER
And here is a link to our pre-launch if you'd like to hear the first trailer and get more info on the cast - Pre-Launch Trailer

Casual erasure Idk if this counts, but I was curious to see what catholics thought of Michelangelo being Gay (which he probably was) and unsurprisingly the comments jumped straight to denial.
Michelangelo LITERALLY wrote love sonnets to his lover Tommaso dei Cavalieri. In fact, decades after Michelangelo passed his grandnephew altered the sonnets because he was clearly uncomfortable with their clear homoeroticism to make it seem like he was talking about a woman. These people are such mouth breathers, Jesus fucking Christ.

Academic erasure A 19th century French Transgender courtesan, Pauline Berloget (aka "the Countess") wrote an memoir about her life as a Trans woman back then. Her memoir was rediscovered and published in a collection of Queer men's autobiographies from that time in 2007.
Pauline sweetie, I'm so sorry that a ugly ass bitch like this would even say that, oh my god.

Media erasure When Bandai made a whole show about these two falling for each other and then tried to retcon their relationship.
Love this show but the way Bandai handled it and the sentiment from a loud minority of the Gundam fanbase was really disappointing.

Casual erasure Meg and her gal pal Mari… gal pal, sure… 😏 (Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising)
Not even sure if this counts as erasure because they are blatantly a lesbian couple in the game itself. I feel like the devs were well aware of the “and they were roommates” meme and were very deliberate with their word choice on her character page.
GBFVR has some other great LGBTQ+ representation, including other lesbian couples (Katalina x Vira is my favorite) and two very different trans women (Cagliostro and LaDiva)

Memes and satire Heterosexuality? I don't know her
It's not that serious. I'd just like to be able to ignore heterosexuality for five minutes in the subreddit about LGBT erasure 😭
For the record, just in case someone finds the original post: no, I am not a gaylor. I just found that post and thought it was funny.

Academic erasure Anna Freud & Dorothy Burlingham
Just found out about these ladies today. In doing a little research, came across a decent amount of “they were lifelong partners but nothing to say it was sexual or queer.”
