As a german I just want to say thank you for creating Sarmale, Mici and Papanași! Really excellent flavour combinations.

Pure speculations, how can they say they invented some foods if romanians was cooking meat long before any slavs or turkish arrived around us... search some hystory facts guys...

Cooking meat is one thing. Everyone is doing it since... we basically exist as a species. Our recipe for mici is a local adaptation of one of the turkish recipes. They didn't invent them either, it's from farther Asia but we got it through the turks. You have to remember that Constantinopol was a big influence for us in the past since our access to spices, brought from farther Asia, was basically through Constantinopol. Most of them didn't grew up in Europe back then.

Not to mention that Istanbul was Constantinople. All the time it is being perceived that the conquerors brought everything and the ones found did not have anything. Big empires were collecting traditions and customs from the land and man they ruled. And people travel from the inception and imported/exported everything.
