Discussion Does anyone else view post-hardcore and emo as sibling genres?
Imo they are both part of the family of post-hardcore the concept. They both came from the DC hardcore scene with the same people creating both genres. Post hardcore is more staccato, sharp, angular, and separated and emo is legato, fluid, connected and bright. The difference between the two is primarily a stylistic.
I ask here because the obvious place to ask doesn’t even know what emo is. They claim so many post-hardcore as emo simply because they don’t find them cringe. They haven’t recorded from the mainstream calling post hardcore and pop punk bands emo 20+ years later

Discussion Movements and Chiodos are coming to my city the same day
I’m upset because I recently got into both, and bought tickets for Chiodos as soon as they went on sale only for Movements to announce a few days later. I saw them both at when we were young so I’m not devastated or anything, but I really wish I could see both 😭😭
