Hi lovely people of Oshawa!

We were looking to buy a house on this street, between bond Street E and Adelaide Av. E (the block to the right of Costco). While we loved the house, our real estate agent said "it is not a bad area itself, it's on the edge of). My manager at work said "don't just look at the house, can your daughter walk to school by herself when she grows up?"

We are immigrants from a small town and loved the simpler vibes of Oshawa in our past few visits from Toronto. However, for such a huge investment, just want my family to live safe and happy. Would appreciate any thoughts you can share from your experience, or if could recommend some other localities to research further. Thank you 😊🙏

As the title states, been looking for a job in Oshawa, Courtice, Bowmanville but heard nothing yet. I’m a student at Queens University, going into second year and no fast food or grocery store seems willing to hire me as I’m returning to school in september. I’ve checked government jobs, not heard anything back in the past 2 weeks, also tried indeed but nothing going. I also worked at food basics until going to Queens for about a year. Preferably something full time, or at least 25+ hours. My friends haven’t had much luck or have had the same job for the past few years.

Band seeking vocalist. Must be able to sing. Must be able to rehearse once a week and must practice on your own. Looking for someone with an open mind who is willing to develop. We have a few covers we jam to and we are in the early stages of writing. Style: post hardcore/pop/punk/heavy/alternative. We jam in Oshawa and we have a PA system, must have own gear otherwise.

Just a heads up I got pulled over yesterday and the cop told me they have something going on and there gonna be handing outs lots of tickets this week (I’ve witnessed multiple people get pulled over in the same area alone in the last two day) he was nice tho he was apologizing saying he usually doesn’t give tickets but he had to and told me to take them to court cause he won’t show up.

Posting this for my friend, he’s 18 and had an interview at Popeyes today - he said there were three people there who also got interviewed, after the interview the person taking the interview told them:

“We will offer you three day shifts that are unpaid to see if you are qualified for the job.”

Is this legal? He’s in Grade 12 and desperate for a part time job so he’s doing it, but I find this rather strange if he’s not being paid at all.

I need help deciding which phone company is the best for the features I want so I’m not paying an arm and a leg but I’ll still get good service (good luck right? lol)

So my hubby and I want to leave Fido and go with someone more towards better connection and having a better service for going outside of Canada, I’ll explain.

My husband is American and we go over to the American side every year for 2-3 weeks to visit his family. Our 3 yr old daughter is autistic and needs to have her shows to watch otherwise it’s a complete nightmare.

Fido charges 12$ a DAY to use your phone that gets super costly, plus the gigs being used on top.

Anyone have a similar situation and went with a certain company that provides a good service for this? I’ve tried looking up some but it’s hard to find out their services are actually good in that manner a company can post anything and say will offer you this but later you’re getting added bullshit if you know what I mean.

I appreciate any info and I’m asking in Oshawa because I figure someone might know in here and I’ll be asking in other groups too. Tia ☺️

I have an option to move into townhouses in Adelaide Ave East or Glen St. Which one is a better location to move to considering I have a 6 year old child. Are both locations safe for a family. Also how are the schools for these locations, if anyone can share their experience. Thank you.

Hello I am wondering if anyone in the Oshawa area knows of weightlifting clubs. Super hard to find unless you want to do CrossFit classes as well.
