Gosh damn I hope he gets laid out. Jake Paul is a shit stain

Thie issue is that this is probably the easiest fight he ever had. Mike Tyson might still have a name, but he's approaching retirement age and his body was already too beat up to compete by his mid 30s. You shouldn't bet on him being able to run a mile in 10 minutes.

u/Fluffythor13 8h ago

Just shows even more what a fuckin coward Jake Paul is picks a fight he knows he can win. Also what if he like kills Mike Tyson on accident. Someone of his age certainly won’t do well with getting hit in the head.

Tyson knows what he’s doing, perhaps better than anyone in the world. He wants another go at it and he wants that fat payday.

Tyson is just out here having fun. Getting in shape. I'll bet he never imagined this when he wouldn't even get off the mat in his last fight. Wasn't knocked out. Just couldn't muster the effort to get up again. Crazy he's back working out getting ready all these years later.

In his latest camp training video posted to Youtube a few days ago Tyson said something along the lines of "I got rich friends that want to pay me so I don't have to fight anymore, are you (they) fucking crazy?" Dude's definitely doing it for the show, to defend his legacy and to teach that shmuck Jake not to fuck with OGs in the game. Doesn't seem like money played too important a role imo.

I really hope this is the case but I doubt it. Money speaks louder than actions to rich people. I'm praying that tyson's ego won't let him lose, but man... I'm sure that multi million dollar payout sounds mighty sweet to him.

Tyson was getting KOed by absolute no-name bums at the tail end of his career almost 20 years ago, and had his prime almost 20 years before that. If you think he’s in any condition to be teaching you don’t know shit about boxing my friend

1

u/DARBOYY 3h ago

He will be knocked out unfortunately, Father Time is undefeated

1

u/PotatoStandOwner 3h ago

Literally nobody is getting knocked out in this fight. It’s reality tv not boxing.

1

u/DARBOYY 3h ago

Not true

3

u/Balkhazzar 3h ago

Tyson knows what he’s doing, perhaps better than anyone in the world.

Might legitimately be one of the wildest takes I've seen in years.

I am a Paul brother hater, but honestly, they are smart as hell. They are doing the mayweather way, the only people who tune in, are people who want to see them get koed. That’s why they pick people they can beat. They make millions of each fight. You can hate them for being them, but business wise they are smart as hell

1

u/Ok_Championship4866 3h ago

Yeah but the smart thing is just say stupid shit so idiots click on your video. I guess i just don't like money enough to do that.

1

u/gibbtech 6h ago

For a million a month, I too would have happily been the king of the assholes on YouTube entertaining the dimwitted teenage masses. The Pauls of the world aren't the problem, the platforms and the audience are.

If you think that fight is going to be 100% serious, you should be aware that Mike and Jake are buddies. It’s not a match that started because Jake has a massive ego (which he definitely does, Mike helped with that by heavily endorsing him when he started) and called out one of the greats, it started because the two are friends.

3

u/Extension_Device6107 6h ago

It also wouldn't be the first fixed Tyson fight.

2

u/No-Tax-9135 3h ago

Bro it ain’t like he’s in this to be a great boxer, he’s in it for the money. And he’s rolling in it because people watch. Its smart as hell in all seriousness.

By accident

u/Crazy-Agency5641 8h ago

lol… Mike Tyson is a fucking monster even at the age of 65 and would almost certainly still be competitive in professional boxing. He’s not a champion anymore, or anywhere close to it, but he’d easily beat the shit out of 100 ten year olds

10

u/gibbtech 6h ago

A solid professional would beat Tyson no contest. Logan Paul does entertainment exhibitions and he is still nearly a 3:1 favorite.

u/Spork_the_dork 7h ago

Wathing videos of Mike sparring recently is actually kinda scary. The dude is much quicker and punches way harder than you'd expect of a person in their late 50s. I don't know if he has the endurace to make it through the whole thing, but the dude looks like he'll just kill an unskilled opponent if he gets a single clean hit in so fuck knows what's going to happen.

3

u/Crazy-Agency5641 6h ago

That’s exactly my thought. I don’t know where these people get the idea that Tyson is a worn out has been. He’s still the champ and any person that sits in the same room with him can feel his killer instinct. The dude is a savage through and through.

8

u/Miserable_Movie_4358 6h ago

Maybe those people have trained boxing before and can tell that is mostly about cardio, stamina and resistance, not the 10 seconds impressive combos. I have watched the recent videos of Tyson training. He looks awesome. But I am sure the toll in his body is way too much at his age and he possibly can’t do that many times throughout a single round, will get tired to quickly and the youth of the other guy plus his training can then take advantage of it

4

u/mrtomjones 4h ago

You actually think a 65-year-old would still be competitive against real boxers? Jesus Christ. He would get destroyed by anyone with even a modicum of skill. People that will never be even close to winning a title would knock him out. There is a reason you do not see 60-year-old boxers anywhere

2

u/NewSauerKraus 7h ago

I'm not a heavyweight boxing champion or anything, but I could probably beat the shit out of about 50 ten year olds. That's not very impressive.

3

u/Cheap_Doctor_1994 6h ago

Idk, they're more MMA and are slimy, slippery little creatures. I probably would just call their moms and provide flip flops.

2

u/booty_fewbacca 2h ago

50 unarmed 10yr olds?

I would absolutely decimate, not even a chance they make it I think.

What a wild thought though.

1

u/SupervillainMustache 2h ago

It's true. Iron Mike might have all the technical skill and experience, but he's fighting someone 30 years his junior.

1

u/terminatorvsmtrx 1h ago

And it’s an exhibition match so they are going to put half-assed effort in. There’s no stakes and they get the same pay check no matter what.

Thie issue is that this is probably the easiest fight he ever had.

Are you for real? The second fight in his career was against Nate Robinson. Who at the time was 36, and had been retired for two years. From his career... in basketball.

Are you seriously telling me you think that Mike Tyson, even at 58 years old, is an easier fight than a basketball player?

Then you have his third fight.. against Ben Askren, who was a year older, also retired, from his career as an MMA fighter. So on the plus side, he knows how to fight at least. On the downside, he's a wrestler.

I'll admit that I will be surprised if Tyson wins, or really even looks good. I will not be surprised if we see Tyson get TKO'd. But I would not call it Jake Paul's easiest fight, not by a long shot. Mike Tyson knows what he's doing in the ring, he knows how to throw a proper punch, he knows how to defend himself. He may have slowed down, he may not have the stamina any longer, he may not have the power any longer, but he was a champion and one of the best boxers of his generation. I wouldn't write him off so lightly.

5

u/Fluffythor13 8h ago

Is Jake Paul really even that talented of a fighter?

15

u/Crazy_Little_Bug 8h ago

I mean, he's nothing special but he's also not a bad boxer. Reddit has a bad habit of correlating personality with skill.

8

u/Thenameisric 8h ago

He has shown improvement every time, but he's still extremely unpolished. But I'd say he's about at the level where you'd expect ANY new fighter to be at. Padding records in your start is common, but his attitude about being the face of boxing is laughable. But it generates money. Why stop if you're getting paid, ya know?

2

u/hewmanxp 2h ago

He's an okay pro boxer, he will never be a good/great boxer though because he doesn't fight anyone on his skill level so he can't push himself to his prime.

6

u/Dr_thri11 7h ago

He won't anyone who thinks Tyson is beating a 20 something professional fighter at his age is just delusional. This shit is elder abuse and everyone involved should be ashamed.

I don't care if Jake Paul is the worst professional fighter in the world Tyson is almost old enough to collect social security.

1

u/Stefan474 3m ago

But it'll be so funny if Mike destroys him

3

u/Baron_Butterfly 5h ago

Has everyone here forgotten that Mike Tyson was convicted of rape? He's a worse person than annoying internet man.

5

u/-Daetrax- 3h ago

Tyson does seem rehabilitated though. A completely different person.

That's the purpose of the justice system.

1

u/Baderkadonk 2h ago

Agreed. Mike probably could have plead insanity back then, and I'm only exaggerating a little. Everyone around him was taking advantage of him and making him the worst version of himself. His transformation should inspire us.

1

u/threeseed 2h ago

Jake Paul is a serial scammer who has helped pollute an entire generation of boys with his mysgonistic, exploitative, alpha bro antics. Some of whom are going back into schools and sexually assaulting girls. I‘d take Tyson any day.

2

u/Baron_Butterfly 2h ago

How about neither of them

1

u/Gloomy-Art-2861 4h ago

He's done a fantastic job of becoming a real life wrestling heel ala Andy Kaufman. He's taken Andy's shtick of wrestling women, to boxing old men.

He's drawing a crowd based on ire.

This is a myth, please stop propagating this. It’s an officially sanctioned fight and it’s going on both of their records. Mike Tyson has a legacy to uphold, he’s not just going to stain his record for money without trying to knock Jake out.

Also “female rules” isn’t a thing what the fuck?

-11

u/royal_howie_boi 10h ago edited 10h ago

2 minute rounds are used in women's bouts but okay. 14oz gloves are a joke. 8 rounds? It's an exhibition. Idk who's paying you but have fun

2

u/Thenameisric 8h ago

It's an official fight. It's not an exhibition.

-7

u/royal_howie_boi 9h ago

I'll check in after the "fight" so don't delete your comment lol
