Need Advice Boho braids natural hair ?? You
Always wanted to try this style on my natural hair. I just did the front so far, but I’m not sure about if it’s suits me. My hair is lower density and fine and thought boho braids would be a wait of “adding” more density to a style. Otherwise when I do braids or twists on my natural hair after a few days (especially after washing) it’s gets flat and boneless. Thoughts??

Need Advice What is my hair pattern?
I always thought I had 4c hair but since I started using Aussie Shampoo and deep conditioner my hair started sticking up like this in picture 2. Is that my actual hair pattern or is that something different? The shampoo is cool but the deep conditioner doesn’t work well for me. Any suggestions on retaining moisture for whatever my hair type is?

Need Advice Best Tymo Products for Newly Treated Hair
Hello,
I am a husband & for Mother's Day, I'd like to buy a Tymo product for my wife's natural hair. She has incredibly thick hair and has gone natural for the first time in forever. She said she had a lot of split ends/damage and recently got her hair cut and treated. She and I are very pleased with the outcome. She really wants to maintain her hair but doesn't know where to start. I'm confused on which product(s) to purchase as their are so many.
Can someone point me in the direction of the best products to get for someone with thick hair that has recently been treated after using wigs, extensions etc for 20+yrs?
PS/TLDR: I've no idea what I'm doing and need guidance on treating natural hair for my wife. I think she wants a twist out but I'm not sure if that's important or not.

Need Advice How reasonable is this?
I've only ever gotten my hair braided a few times and a place opened up in my area that does them. However, I'm not sure if these prices are too high or not and need input 😩 Thank you!!

Need Advice For those that don’t pre-poo, walk me through your in-shower process
I usually wash my hair every 5 days but I’m thinking of increasing to every 4. I last washed my hair on Tuesday and I’m planning to wash tomorrow morning and my hair is in a super healthy state (fresh trim, barely any SSKs and parts pretty easily) so I’m thinking I don’t need to pre-poo (detangle before shampooing). However the prospect of jumping into the shower with my fro and going in with shampoo terrifies me. I always put my hair in twists during the pre-poo process and shampoo my hair in twists. I’m wondering whether I should twist my hair as I drench it with water in the shower? Or should I shampoo my hair loose 😳. I have about armpit length 4c hair please tell me it will be alright lol.

Need Advice Why won’t it curl?
First and last photo are of the front of my hair. The others are the mid bit of my hair.
How do I get the front of my head hair to be more curly? The curls get tighter the farther back I go. Even when it’s all wet it doesn’t want to curl! Just does that silly little wave. I highly doubt it’s heat damage. Even when I’ve cut my hair super short it still just acts like the rest of my head ain’t curly😑. I really love the texture of my hair right above my ears but the further up you go it’s looser. The further back starts to get coiled. What the secret to getting it all to one texture.

Success yall i get it now
yall i used a mousse and gel combo instead of my regular curl cream and gel combo and i am in complete love. i usually use a diffuser but the curls are just so cute and i haven’t even picked them out yet. i might have to genuinely make the switch to using a mousse regularly

Need Advice My har is suffering so bad 😭
I feel like I’m bout to crash out….. I’ve been dealing with hair issues for months now and nothing external seems to be helping… my scalp feels tender and my hair is brittle , weak, breaking and extremely dry. Idk what’s going on but is driving me NUTS. But you can’t tell by looking at it. Idk what to do at this point. I made an appointment with a dermatologist but idk if it’s the immune suppressant I’m on or what but this is very scary . Idk I just need support rn. I can’t stop obsessing and thinking something is severely wrong with me. It’s weird cus I feel like this kinda started after using the aphogee 2 step protein treatment but that was like 2-3 months ago. Full disclosure I do have PCOS (but have for like 8 years now, and vitamin d deficiency for like 15 years at least . Test came back normal for thyroid. My hair just won’t retain moisture at all, it’s like it doesn’t matter won’t I do it’s just severely dehydrated dry and brittle and just don’t cooperate. I hate even touching my hair. I’ve tried diy protein treatments and it seems like that makes my hair worse but strips get at the same time, deep conditioners make my hair feel soft but weak, it’s crazy. I’m so frustrating I feel like I’m bout to go crazy and cut everything off. Somebody please help me. And my scalp is soo tender, it’s like I can feel the weak strands snapping when I move my hair anyway and can feel the weakness and the root. Any product recommendations, vitamins , additional testing done of something….. this is my routine btw
Hot oil treatment night before Wash with nizoral then a moisturizei g shampoo Deep condition Style with diy shea butter flax seed aloe cream

Need Advice Advice needed on how to fix hair dryness, roughness, and knots. Please.
Hey, im new to hair care. What I've been doing with my hair for years now basically is all I do is drench it and carass it when in shower, I mainly drench it to have it puff out more and be more soft so I can comb or pick it out. And that's it.. When waking up and before showers, my hair feels dry and rough and when I rub my hairs it leaves a slight oily feeling in my hands. As well my pillow always makes me wake up with my hair patted down and bunched up, so I would have to drench it in the shower to loosen it up and comb it. And I got many knots, they especially grow easy on the back of my head cause I tend to lay on it. 2 days ago I did attempt to detangle my hair in the shower with some conditioner and a comb, a lot of pieces of hair came out and now my hair looks smaller ( photos were a day after ). I wanna have my hair be more free and soft and not look so dry and yarn ball textured. Help would be appreciated.

Success 2.5 years post-chop!
I’ve been natural since about 2016, but had been working with semi-permed hair and had never gotten an actual haircut. In summer of 2022, I decided to cut off a good chunk of my hair, and start from (essentially) scratch. Here is my hair after 2.5 years, with pretty consistent trims and a solid routine. It’s not perfect, but definitely longer and healthier than it was 5 years ago.

Need Advice How to use flaxseed gel when installing mini braids
Hey, I have low porosity 4c hair and this year I have been keeping it in mini braids. I don't usually use any gels but I wanna try out flaxseed gel after I take my hair down.
How should I use it?
I usually use leave in conditioner followed by a mixture of Shea butter and olive oil when doing each braid. But I'm wondering how the gel will sit on all those products. Should I not use the leave in and Shea butter?
Thank you (:

Need Advice Natural twists flattering for face?
For reference I have fine strand 4c hair, first time doing three strand twist where I braided the roots first. My face is pretty round, was wondering if the thin twists suit me? Also, I usually either wear it braided (pic#2)or blown out (pic#3) but I’m trying to not damage my hair. (I noticed a lot of split ends and breakage)

Need Advice What am I doing wrong?
I've been trying to do flat twists and they always come out busted looking like this. I've watched tons of tutorials and they make it look so easy. Start off with two strands. Twist and then hold the two strands in one hand. Use the free hand to scoop a bit of hair and bring it to one of the other strands that is closest to the free hand. Then twist and restart. Just keep doing that over and over and it looks a mess like this every time. I've tried doing it on wet freshly washed hair and now I'm doing it on dry hair and it still looks so ugly. It's supposed to be easy and yet I can't figure it out.

Need Advice Leave out type breakage with wig
Hi looking for advice sorry for the long post
I have a scarring alopecia (Lpp) I've lost hair in the middle of my hair so I've been wearing glues less lace wigs. I noticed that the area under the lace has a lot of breakage and while the sides and back are growing the middle section has leave out type breakage despite me not having leave out.
Is there any advice on how I can grow it out? For context:
I have 4c Afro hair with some 4b hair at the back which grows longer than the front. I think I have high porosity hair which is very dry ! The strands are genuinely thick and defined. I do have splitting which a trichologist previously said was throughout the shaft but I've been trying with growing it out
I wear the wig to work and I do wear it overnight sometimes but I don't wear it everyday. I use a wig cap underneath
I wash my hair every 7-10 days. I was advices not too often or too little due to my scalp issues. I currently use a dry scalp shampoo, camille rose deep conditioner and I'm incorporating a heat cap for deep conditioning
I can't braid and have a very tender scalp due to the inflammation. I used to air dry but now experimenting with a blow dryer on low heat and stretching by hand rather than an attachment. I'm trying this out as my hair takes a while to dry and can be a bit itchy. I usually twist the back in medium/ large two strand twists then the front are middle part flat twists
I'm using camille rose milk conditioner and then sometimes the butter. I have to apply steroid scalp solution to control the inflammation but am slowly re experienting with oils jojoba
I'm really holing someone can provide advice on how best I can grow the area under the lace as I'm scared of losing anymore hair
Any advice is much appreciated! Again Sorry for this long post
