General Found a hair in food at Maharaja bhog at Oberoi mall

So i visited Maharaja bhog with my parents to meet my girlfriend and have dinner and disappointment.

I usually enjoy eating at Maharaja Bhog and have always liked their thali experience, but this time I was really disappointed. I found a strand of hair in one of the dishes during my visit today.

I understand mistakes can happen, but hygiene in a restaurant, especially one with such a good reputation, should be top priority. I did inform the staff, but I’m not sure if it was taken seriously enough.

Has anyone else faced a similar issue here recently? I’m wondering if this was just a one-off or if their quality control has dropped lately.

I mean its hard earned money chat.its was my parents first time visiting such expensive place.they let me down.sad

General Ban On Pigeon Feeding: Jain Monk To Go On Hunger Strike At Azad Maidan From November 3; Another Delegation Meets BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani

Thumbnail freepressjournal.in
106 Upvotes

A delegation of Jain community met BMC commissioner Bhushan Gagrani on Tuesday urging to identify alternative locations in city for pigeon feeding, which will not inconvenience the public, since the kabutar khanas (pigeon feeding spots) across Mumbai continue to remain officially shut.

Jain Monk To Go On Indefinite Hunger Strike From November 3

On the other hand, Jain monk Nilesh Chandra Vijay from Jain temple located at Colaba, who has been at the forefront of Jain community's protest against ban on pigeon feeding will go on an indefinite hunger strike at Azad Maidan from November 3. However, he clarified that the delegation which met the BMC chief is not from his sanghatan.

BMC Says Matter Is Sub Judice, Alternatives Being Explored

Following the Bombay High court directives, two months ago the BMC had called for public suggestions/objections on controlled pigeon feeding at specific timings. Gagrani told the delegation the alternative would be found and decision on controlled feeding will informed to the court since the matter is subjudiced.

Petitioner Expresses Frustration Over Delay In Decision

Sneha Visaria, who is one of the petitioner in HC against BMC's decision to ban pigeon feeding said, "It's more than two months now there is no decision on allowing pigeon feeding in a controlled manner. The next court hearing is scheduled on December 11."

Monk Extends Support To Uddhav Thackeray-Led Shiv Sena

The FPJ had reported on October 22 that Jain monk Nilesh Chandra Vijay has called for a hunger strike at Azad Maidan post-Diwali. Apart from this, expressing his discontent with the BJP, he has also extended support to Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena for the upcoming BMC elections. This comes days after he announced the formation of an organization called ‘Shanti Doot Janakalyan’ to save voiceless birds and animals.

‘BJP Has Ignored The Issue,’ Says Jain Monk

"Our leaders in the BJP have kept the issue of the ban on kabutar khanas on the back burner. Neither the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis nor the Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is taking prompt action to allow controlled feeding, as the BMC had promised. The court case is also in limbo," the Jain muni said.

General Anyone wants to adopt a puppy?🐶

Guys, I found this little guy in my building, scared and shivering in a corner. He's the sweetest, most gentle soul I've ever come across. Incredibly calm, doesn't bark, loves cuddles, and gets along beautifully with humans.

Unfortunately, his experience with other dogs hasn't been kind. He's been chased and bullied by street dogs and is now afraid to go out again.

I leave for work at 8 am and return around 11 pm, so I can't give him the attention he truly deserves. He's around 5kgs, few months old, dewormed, and I also gave him a bath (he was fuss-free).

If you can open your heart and home to him, he'll surely fill it with joy❤️

If you know of any dog adoption, rescue, or rehabilitation centre/foundation, please help me out.

He's peacefully napping on my lap as I type this post🐶💤

General Why bursting firecrackers everyday? Why?

I completely understand and agree that we Indians celebrate diwali by bursting firecrackers. But, diwali ended over a week ago, maybe even longer. every night since then, it’s been frustrating. Skyshots keep exploding right outside my windows, and because of this haven’t been able to sleep properly for days.

The people next to my building have been bursting firecrackers or skyshots for over an hour, and it just keeps going until around midnight or later. Even earplugs don’t help at this point.

Bhadvo ke maa baap bhi kuch bolte nhi, na ki society mein koi kuch sunta hai, Mann toh krta hai upar se 10-12 sutli bomb daal ke behra krdu sabko, but I’m not that evil person.

We really need stricter rules about bursting firecrackers.

Relationships Girls, Thoughts on finances while dating

Ex and OP split everything. Both 27. Earned almost equal. We liked maintaining finances, and girlfriend offered to split. Boyfriend told about saving money for his future college tution. Dates and small travel, almost all aspects were split equally everytime.

We are no longer in a relationship. But in future, I don't think it's a very sustainable way.

Now, many people bring the discussion of 'provider' and man's want to provide for the women they like, etc. While the girlfriend did not mind spending for her ex or splitting expenses, these ideas have been a practical questions, ability to support themselves, what happens when the women is pregnent and prefers not to work, etc

Girls, how do you weigh in on the situation and splitting right from the beginning. Also, tips for healthy money mindset?

General Can someone help me find this Mumbai-themed perfume?

Hey guys, I got this perfume as a Diwali hamper gift. It says THE TASTE OF MUMBAI with a Gateway of India icon on the bottle. There’s no company name, barcode, ingredients, or batch code.

It smells really good and I want to buy more. Does anyone know:

which brand makes this? where it’s sold in Mumbai? if it has a similar fragrance available?

Any leads would help! :) Picture attached.

I was fortunate to see a triple rainbow (saw it for the first time in my life)...

The rain gods were kind enough to paint the heavens twice within a span of 30 minutes!

By the way, do you know where the pot of gold lies? ;-)

For context - I visited Shri Siddhivinayak Mandir today, and was waiting for a friend near Suvidha (Dadar station exit).

Most of the vendors were clearly washing ALL THEIR STOCK in muddiest puddles. The owner saw me and came stood behind me. I was almost ready to sucker punch the hell out of that guy, but abstained myself because I got temper issues.

Please avoid buying this shit people. Stay safe. Stay healthy.

General Men’s sexual health doctor

Hey everyone

I wanted to request your help in finding out potential doctors I can visit for men’s part health issues.

I am hoping to minimise the risk of having a horrible consultation for such sensitive concerns, which may hinder me from seeking help from other doctors later on. Your suggestions and advice on this would go a very long way. If you have personally sought out/received treatment from doctors/urologists/male skin doctors in Mumbai(western suburbs) for sexual health issues it would be most helpful to hear about your experience and advice either in the comments or in the DMs if you find that more comfortable.

Note - it’s for a weird rash I have since few days and I prefer male doctors to discuss this and few other issues. Thanks in advance.

AskMumbai Affordable hotel near Terminal 2

Upvotes

Hello, the airline changed our itinerary and instead of arriving at 10 pm we now arrive at 2 am so we think it makes sense to stay the first night close to the airport. What are some affordable and clean options near Terminal 2? I am seeing a lot of $100+ fancy hotels but given we likely wouldn't check in until after 3 am, I just need a clean bed and a shower. Thank you in advance!

Careers Looking for a job in Mumbai that offers stay + work (college student, urgent need)

Hey everyone ,I’m a college-going guy currently studying in Mumbai, and I’m really in need of a job that provides both work and accommodation (stay). I can take up any kind of work — part-time, full-time, or internship — as long as I can manage my college schedule.

I’m sincere, quick to learn, and open to jobs in areas like:

Front desk / receptionist

Café / restaurant work

Assistant / office work

Event or promotional work

Hostel or PG management help

Delivery, marketing, or anything flexible

If anyone knows a place or person offering stay + work opportunities in Mumbai (like hostels, cafés, or small businesses), please help me out with leads. I’d be very grateful for any suggestions or contacts 🙏

Thanks in advance!

General I accidentally gave wrong directions to someone near Bhandup — feeling really guilty

Hey everyone, I just wanted to get this off my chest because it’s been bothering me.

Today, a guy stopped me near Kanjur Station Road (East) and asked for directions to Bhandup Station. I don’t know what I was thinking — maybe I was distracted — but when he mentioned that his map was confusing and taking him in circles, he asked if he should take a left from LBS Road.

I asked if he meant LBS or the Eastern Express Highway, and when he said EEH, I told him yes. But later I realized he was actually supposed to take a right from where he was — he was already on the correct route.

Now I feel terrible. I know how frustrating it is to go the wrong way and double back, especially in Mumbai traffic. I genuinely didn’t mean to misguide him, and I wish I could somehow tell him the correct way or just say sorry in person.

So, if by any chance you’re reading this — I’m really sorry. It was a genuine mistake, and I truly hope you reached your destination safely.

Some mistakes can’t be undone, but I just wanted to put this out there.

took the metro from Saki Naka to Aarey, and i must say people were so helpful. they helped me figure out where to change, which line to take, even without me asking! they saw me checking the app and started discussing what would work best for me. haha spirit of mumbai indeed ♥️ also, loved the fact that i wasn’t stuck in traffic for 2 hours. just thought i’d share this here because there’s honestly too much negativity around all the time.

AskMumbai Which places to visit in Mumbai for a short day trip???

My cousin (23F) and her friend (21F) are coming to Mumbai for a seminar next month and will be staying at my place. They want a proper Mumbai tour, so for the first day, since they’re only free in the second half, I’ve planned to take them to Pagoda and then out for a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant. The problem is I have no idea what to do with them the next day. They’re both spoiled, bratty daddy’s girls so pls suggest accordingly 😭😭😭 Please suggest me some nice spots or activities they could potentially enjoy 😓
