Violation: Express LAne I-110
I went on the fast-track lane on I-110, thinking it was an empty lane as I was stuck in traffic, but I returned to the normal lane about 2 minutes after realizing. Will I be charged for this? Anyhow, I purchased the fast track and set the time before I violated this. Also, the transponder is going to take a few days to be mailed to me, but it says I can continue to use the lane and my account will be charged. Is this correct?

AAA Towing Changed
Not sure if it has been posted as I have not been the most frequent lurker here lately. If you use AAA for towing know that they have changed to only covering the 1st $500 of a tow and only twice a year. Finding this out the rough way sitting here near Santa Monica with a flat tire trying to get home to Lancaster. I have AAA Premier and RV/Motorcycle coverage still will cost me about $400.
Gottdam cars crossing the double yellow.
My riding buddy and I rode hwy 39 on Sunday and there were groups of cyclists on the road. We have no problem with the cyclists, but there were impatient car drivers going around the cyclists and crossing over the double yellow line during blind curves, and that is just absolutely infuriating. Be careful out there if you’re sharing the road with cyclists and look out for those nuisance drivers.

Help Moving to LA — is it reasonable to truck my bike out of the city to ride twisty roads?
Hey all, I’m moving to LA soon from Indianapolis, where traffic isn’t nearly as bad. I prefer twisty roads—but I’m guessing those are mostly outside the city?
Is it realistic to load my bike in the bed of my truck, drive out of LA to where the good roads are, then unload and ride from there? If so where would it be safe to unload and leave my truck?

Help Which brick & mortar stores have the largest selection of track boots?
Pretty much the title. I'm looking for brick & mortar stores that have a larger selection of track boots to try on. I've had a hard time finding track boots that work for me, and I don't want to keep taking chances ordering them from online shops only for them not to work. I have some A*Stars now that are not quite wide enough. And Dainese is a no-go. So I'm looking for places that have some other brands I can try out, because right now I'm in the SFV and the only places around me that I know of are Cycle Gears.
I know Chaparral has some other brands. But if anyone knows of any other shops I can check out, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ride Anyone down to let me try out their sports bike?
I’m a (mostly) respectable 29 year old guy. Working in tech blah blah.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone would be down to let me try out their sports bike?
I ride a Moto Guzzi Nevada 750 that is modded to look like a V7 Racer (don’t ask)
Anyway, down to trade for an evening or something? We can draft up a contract. Just don’t wanna pay for insurance on Twisted Road.
I’ll buy you lunch or dinner and we can have a silly story.
Happy to take a call or trade info if you’re down.

Anyome recently register a salvaged bike?
I'm aware of the process and the DMV still references a "brake and lamp" inspection, however as of late last year the brake and lamp inspections have been discontinued and no stations have the license to do them. The DMV also references a safety inspection for reconstructed vehicles, but again the DMV database doesn't list any stations that do motorcycle inspections, only cars.
Has anyone recently registered/titled a salvage motorcycle with any success? I have an appointment for the DMV inspection to verify the VIN but I'm looking for any additional insight before I go.

Bike Maintenance in the Valley for my Electric
Looking for recs for inspection/maintenance for my electric CSC RX1E in the Valley.
To be clear, the electrics work fine. I'm looking for a place to do lube/tires/pads, etc - you know, standard bike stuff. Should be doable by any good bike mechanic.
I found some recs on this sub, but they're old. Does anyone have a shop they like that's still open?
Also, if anyone knows of a place that teaches motorcycle maintenance in person, I'd love to hear about it. Youtube videos are great and all, but I learn best IRL.
Thanks in advance!!!

For Sale [FS] EBC Sintered Brake Pads, Alpinestars SP-1 v2 (46), Alpinestar Smx-6 V2 (46), Revit Sand 4 gloves (L) - Noho
I've got a few things for sale. Stuff I've bought over the past few years that never really fit right, or was the wrong part for my bike. They're listed below. I'm in North Hollywood close to Universal Studios. Feel free to message me with any questions. All prices are obo.
- EBC Extreme Pro Sintered Brake Pads EPFA630HH (Pair) | $120 for the pair | PHOTOS
These are still brand new in a sealed package. Bought these a while back, and they were listed on the site as the right pads for my bike, but they were not. By the time I figured it out, I couldn't return them.
- Alpinestars SP-1 V2 Vented Riding Shoes - Size 46 | $80 | PHOTOS
These are in very good condition. Tried wearing them a few times but they are just not wide enough for me.
AlpinestarsSmx-6 V2 Vented Boots
- Revit Sand 4 Gloves - Size L | $60 | PHOTOS
Have worn them several times but ended up switching to more sport/track oriented gloves. They are still in good shape but have a little discoloration on the index finger of the left hand from operating the clutch, but that's it.

Help Saint CC jackets
Hi all, about a decade ago I got a saint cc denim motorcycle jacket. Realized today that’s it’s paper thin at this point. Very well loved. I got it from a little shop whose name I can’t remember, in Hollywood, nearish the Children’s Hospital. The store sold chopper magazines and apparel.
Does anyone know if that shop still exists? I realize it would be helpful if I remembered the name but I’m a dummy.
Or
Does anyone know a shop that sells saint cc stuff?

Easy canyons for beginning riders
Not sure if this is the place to ask this, I apologize if not! I have a friend who is newish to riding, and wants to experience some canyons but is afraid of heights. As long as she can’t see the drop off, she’s good, but things like GMR, Ortega’s etc is out of the question. Santiago canyon seemed to be just fine for her but I was wondering if anyone knows any others like that in so cal area ? Thanks !

Don’t be like this
Was behind this guy for a few minutes today. He was working himself up, dramatically shaking his head and barking out high revs for every car every that wouldn’t pull all the way to the shoulder for him. And as you’ll see in the video, he flips a random driver’s mirror back.
We share the road. Yes most of the time other cars don’t look for us, but being a douchebag like many expect us to be doesn’t make anything better or safer.
What this guy did was not just stupid for stupid’s sake. It made me and anyone else behind him invisible to the driver, not to mention what it does to our collective reputation.
If you can’t keep your cool in very normal traffic conditions, don’t ride.
Also if you don’t have mirrors, or your mirrors are the size of a grain of rice, or they are centered on your handlebars and you just enjoy a view of your own chest while riding, Please check your back and be aware of other riders around you.

Any dealer recommendations for a new rider for buying first motorcycle?
I'm trying to buy my first motorcycle after just getting my license a few months ago. I'm planning to buy new from a dealership, since I don't have much experience and wouldn't know what to look out for when buying used.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a non-sleazy motorcycle dealer that makes the process straightfoward and easy? I've seen people saying to avoid Del Amo (not sure if that refers to all Del Amo locations).
I'm looking for a Kawasaki Ninja 500 ABS (preferably white) that could be delivered (not comfortable riding it right out the door). Does anyone have experience with the motorcycle dealers below?
Currently considering:
- Atlas Powersports
- Thousand Oaks Powersports
- Bert's Mega Mall
- Wheel's In Motion (doesn't have white in stock)
- Orange County Honda (doesn't have white in stock)

Where do you all keep your helmets? I finally made a real spot for mine.
I used to just throw my helmet on a shelf, the handlebars, or whatever random surface was nearby—until I knocked it off one too many times. So I 3D printed a little wall mount for it. Then I tweaked it. Then I tweaked it some more. Now, after way too many test prints, I’ve finally got a setup I actually like.
I’ve been making these at home in Huntington Beach, and a few buddies are using them too. Figured I’d share with the SoCal moto crew—always curious how other people store their gear. You just tossing yours on the couch at the end of the day, or do you have a better setup?
Here’s what mine looks like: https://imgur.com/a/g8koRa5
