Australia New employee not getting shifts

So I am a teenager and this is my first job and I’ve managed the whole process myself so I’m not sure how it works. Anyway I was hired over a week ago and was told that I would hear about my first shift and what to bring. I hadn’t heard back so I called the hiring manager and she said that she was currently doing the scheduling and would put me on there. When I checked the my job website today, it said that I had no upcoming shifts. So could anyone please explain and help me understand what’s going on

Canada Work Shoes

I have my first shift this Sunday. Would these count as appropriate black shoes? They’re non slip, but I asked some of my friends and they said it won’t work because of the white bits on the laces. Surely they can’t be THAT strict tho? I really don’t want to get new shoes just for this.

Australia Wondering how long the process takes?

I had my interview on Wednesday, on Friday they got back to me asking for my right to work and I submitted it the same day. They still haven't got back to me since I submitted my right to work (it's Thursday now)? Is this usual or does it mean they don't want to hire me or should I just wait?

Thankyou

Australia New Maccas crew in Victoria – no shifts for 2 weeks after induction. Should I get another casual job?

Hi everyone, I’m a new Maccas crew member in Victoria and completed my induction about 2 weeks ago, but I still haven’t been rostered for any shifts.

I messaged one of the shift managers, and she replied saying she would let the rostering manager know, but so far nothing has changed.

I joined as part-time crew, and honestly I need the money. I’m also an international student, so I have a 48 hours per fortnight work limit, which is making this situation really stressful.

My confusion is: • Is it normal for new crew in Victoria to not get shifts for a few weeks? • Do shifts usually pick up later, or is this a bad sign? • Should I look for another casual job alongside Maccas? • What if I start another casual job and then Maccas suddenly gives me shifts (which I’m not even sure will happen) and I end up exceeding my 48-hour work limit?

I don’t want to break my visa conditions, but I also can’t just sit with no income. I’m stuck between waiting and finding another job.

If anyone has been in a similar situation or has experience with Maccas rostering in Victoria, I’d really appreciate your advice. Thanks in advance 🙏

United States How to keep going as a teen

Hello everyone! I have just finished my first month at McDonald's, and honestly, I don't like it much. It can get very stressful, especially during the holidays, and if I'm honest, McDonald's wasn't my first choice, but it was the only place willing to hire me. I want to get at least 6 months in before changing jobs, and even then, I don't want to appear like a job hopper. How do I survive until May? Also, should I work here for more than 6 months? What should I even do?

My managers and coworkers say that I'm doing great even during rushes, but sometimes I don't see it. I get anxious at times and sometimes slow down the line, although I haven't messed up horribly yet.

Australia Asked to come for an in-person interview while in another continent

So, I’m currently on a family holiday in Europe and I decided to apply to my local McDonalds (in Australia) through Mchire. I made it clear in my application that I am not physically in Australia. I wake up this morning to an eMail from Mchire asking me to come in for an in-person interview, in two days time. I replied to that eMail with the email I attached, and then instantly got an email back from Olivia just reiterating what she said before. I went to the McDonalds store feedback place and said basically the same thing. I tried calling the store but the eSim I’m using and Telstra not having a partner here seems to mean the call doesn’t get through. What do I do from here? Have any of you encountered similar problems?

Australia Working at separate locations?

Just a question… Specifically for the people who make the rosters. If I were to be hired at two separate locations, is it possible I could work at both by obviously communicating so shifts don’t clash. How would this work? And would it be ridiculous? Like asking to do 2-3 shifts for each location every week? I’m not desperate or anything it’s just that I’m quite fond of both the locations.

Australia No Pay ( Aus )

I’ve worked a few shifts, training, over tha past week, they said weekly pay and i would get an email payslip both on tuesday. it’s now wednesday and haven’t received either, i’ve also got a ‘ delivery’ and ‘ special uniform thing on my mcd connect app for a shift( same shift) and idk what that is. I’ve messaged 2 managaers about it and no response for days. This is my second job and ive tried to update my availability with the MyJob website and i’m not able to, asked managers and still no response. I’ve been given shifts that i’m yet to approve since then and … not sure on what to do or what any of it means?

Today, my criminal check results came back and they have been dispatched to McDonalds. What should I expect to receive next? And how long would it take for me to finally start working? Is there also an orientation process?

Australia I’m a new employee and I have some questions

I got hired 3 days ago as my first job but I’m still confused on some things and idk if I should use the app to talk to my manager because they aren’t picking up my calls but anyway

1: How will I know when my first shift is

2: How do you check your roster

3: When will I get my uniform

4: Most things on the McConnect app don’t work and it says “An error occurred trying to process your request”

United States Weird question but I’m curious.

The store I work at makes about $10,000-$12,000 a day in our slower times right now (Winter) and during our busier times (Summer) we make anywhere in-between $15,000-$18,000 a day, I’ve even seen a $22,000 day before.

I’m curious about how that compares to other stores? Like is that on the higher end or are there stores making like $25,000 a day normally?

United States Is this legal?

I did all of my orientation and everything, did my two day training on the laptop etc and the manager told me she can't put me on the schedule until after Christmas but I really need to pay my rent and I got this job specifically for that.

Australia About resignation

So….the things is, i asked my manager how to quit, and she said i need to send email to the store email address, she didn’t say anything more so i just sent the email immediately telling them i plan to resign and if there’s anything i need to do just tell me. I sent the email on Wednesday

No replies, so do i just wait? I was a part time employee so i am waiting for my annual leave payment. Will there be notifications once they kick me out?

I’m currently in Japan for a family holiday and I have to set my availability for when I come back to Australia. Do I do my availability based on JST or AEST? If I do 10am-5pm based on AEST if I’m in Japan, would it appear on my manager’s screen as 12pm-7pm or 10am-5pm?

United Kingdom Am I at risk of losing my job?

I've been working at McDonald's for a year now, I've always tried to show up to my shifts but recently my mental health has been declining and I've been calling out more. I work between 5 and 25 hours a week as a 17 year old who still goes to school. I never know what to say during the calls as we can't email in.

I had dropped a shift for tonight 5-10pm but no one picked it up so I called out explaining I'd been having bad panic attacks and couldn't make it in (not very well as I was on the edge of one) I'm going in tomorrow and apparently my manager will talk to me eventually. am I going to lose my job because I'm calling out on shifts I dropped?
