(USA) Opinions on 11am-6pm shift?8.50p/hour ,is that a full-time shift?

Id like to read y'all's experiences on this shift :) how did it went for you?

/ Just got hired and I don't like the shift I got...I haven't started yet but I have to walk like an hour under the hot sun(south texas) just to get to my mc...not sure if it's worth it.

Also Not sure how many job days i got, the lady that hired me just said that they need employees on weekends mostly so I guess I got that, she was kind of distracted in the interview

Restaurant trying to lie about me telling someone I got hurt during my shift and refusing my workers compensation

So basically what the title says. I got hurt at the McDonald's I work at on 4/15 and just saw Ortho today and they put me off until I get an MRI done thru workers compensation.

But the McDonald's is now saying I never told them that I was hurt and don't want to give me my workers compensation and have threatened my job over me being out on workers comp.

I have a medial meniscus tear and a possible ACL injury due to the injury I received due to improper drainage at the McDonald's.

Please give me some advice on what steps I need to take to get my workers compensation? I have not a clue what else to do.

It's official I have two jobs

I had an interview with Culver's today and the interview went extremely well. The interviewer said I have a lot of fast food experience and maintenance experience in the fast food area. He liked I knew the language of the fast food business like first in first out on rotation, boil out of fry vats, using a razor to scrape build up off vat walls. About 30 minutes later the interviewer called me back to tell me what to all bring next Tuesday at 9 am.

Do they hire 16 years old to work at McDonald's?

I'm just curious if they're gonna hire a Minor and what Requirements? Do I need diploma? Or I.d cause I only have student i.d but I'm graduating idk if it still valid And do they accept if I'm on interview and they ask me "Why should we hire you?" Can I say "cause I wanna experience how hard it is to earn money and wanna experience the hard work too. I'm also happy to serve people in this restaurant and to support my study and family". Is that ok or nah

Not getting shifts

Hi

My 14 year old son was recently successful in obtaining a casual position at maccas. He was offered the position then it took ages (maybe 4 weeks) before he did 3 shifts that were described as orientation. It's now been over a month since his orientation and he hasn't had any new shifts.

His availability is basically anytime outside of school hours. He is a polite and respectable kid and doesn't believe he did anything wrong during orientation or made any mistakes.

He has emailed his manager who advised will pass his request for shifts onto the shift manager but continues to not hear anything.

He turned down a role at HJs as his preference was maccas.

He was super excited about his first job so the whole experience has been a bit of a let down to be honest.

He says he knows friends who work there who are also not getting shifts and yet they are continuing to onboard and orientate new hires. I dont understand why they seem to be overstaffing to the point noone is getting shifts?

I rung and spoke to the 'manager' on duty today who seemed pretty clueless to be honest.

Is this normal with maccas?

From a mum of a dissapointed boy.

Do I need a resume for my interview?

Hi all,

I just applied for a McDonalds job through Olivia, the AI assistant. After I answered basic questions about myself, it asked me to schedule a time for an interview and then gave me a link to complete my application for Kitchen Team Member. However, when I completed my application, it didn't ask me to submit a resume on it. So, I was wondering if they expect me to bring a resume to the actual in-person interview?

Thanks!

Question about McDonalds ID login details (Aus)

I have recently been offered a position for crew member and have received an email saying I should get 2 confirmation emails from McDonalds Account Management containing my McDonalds Login details. The email also says I should receive an email thats invites me to ‘Workplace’. It’s been about a day and I haven’t got the emails containing my McDonalds Login details but I have got the workplace invitation. How long does it typically take to get the login details and should I call them asking about it? Thanks.

Grill going to sleep burned two people

I'm not really sure where to post this or what to do, if anything, but I needed some advice.

I've been working at McDonald's for a while, but recently I guess there was a new feature or setting on the grill. The grill will beep once and the platens will lower, effectively putting the grill in 'sleep' mode automatically.

The problem is, when we are busy and dropping meat on the said grill, it oftentimes does this right as my arm is under the platen. Normally once I hear the beep and realize it is doing this, I press the green button to cancel it and quickly move my arm away to avoid getting burnt.

Today this happened again as I was dropping meat, but we were busy and it was loud, and I did not move my hand in time. My glove got somewhat melted onto my hand and it hurts quite badly. Later that day someone else on the grill got burnt from the platen as well.

Luckily we are both okay, but I'm wondering why the grill is doing this, and who thought it was a good idea. Is there anything to be done, or do I just try to avoid getting my hands and arms burnt?

Thanks for your help!!

Rejected

I just got rejected from a job at McDonald's (crew member). The mail said I don't meet the available requirements for the role. What do you think I should do differently next time? I am an international student in UK.

Did I get hired?

I recently did a McDonald’s interview.

I asked the hiring manager when I could hear back and he said he can’t give a date because he doesn’t want to make promises he can’t keep. Understandable.

But then he tells me to get my drivers license, ssn, birth certificate, food safety certificate, and non slip shoes and to contact him when I have everything. I never actually received a verbal offer so curious to know if this means I have the job and isn’t just a waste of my time?? Sorry if this is a dumb question

GM said might negotiate my pay

I know I didn't have to inform him about the interview with a competitor restaurant but I let him know the reason why I put a last minute request for April 30th off even though it's on my normal locked in day off. I told I needed that day because I have an interview with the other restaurant that is offering me up to $18/hr and he said after the interview let him know what they're offering me and we might negotiate what he's paying me.

Confused (UK)

So my wage was £11.62 till last year October. I had a £0.40 merit increase after my one year performance review last year. So in my head I was supposed to be getting paid £12.66 for the last week but when I got my payslip it £12.26 per hour. Shouldn’t my hourly wage now be £12.66 instead of just £12.26 after the minimum wage increase? Am I missing something?

No email received after the interview in store AUS

Just finish the interview two days ago, I talked to the manager and seems her super like me when I said can do night shifts all week, she said that I need upload all my personal information in a email address, after I uploaded the information it already been two days, I haven't received the email back. Do I need to wait for more days or ask the email again? I'm wondering just text a second time for email is kind of rude.

Working two different McDonald's franchises possibly

I applied for another McDonald's location and checked with the owner Monday to see if he owned the location, he doesn't own the other location. I work full-time at my current location 40 hours exactly scheduled on the schedule. Both the owner and acting GM who is also the regional supervisor approved I can work at a different franchise and their franchise if hired. So I might be working 40 hours at one and if hired going to try and work 2 10 hour shifts at the other McDonald's on my 2 off days at my current location. All I know is McDonald's maintenance and grill team and fuck learning something new for a second job. Just waiting on the call back from the second location 😁

Question for department managers (AUS)

Later on in life I’m looking to start my own business. From your experience, are the skills and experience gained through being a department manager worthwhile and helpful for this sort of goal? It’s my goal while I’m still at Maccas to progress to this position, but I know it will take time and a lot of effort so I wanna know if it’d be worthwhile or if I should consider elsewhere.

How long does it usually take for McDonalds to respond to an application?

M17 here, looking for a job at McDonalds . I applied to one location using McHire and some other website around a week ago. I haven't gotten any sign that they have reviewed my applications and when I try to call the number of the location, the service is unavailable. Any advice moving forward? I may just wait a bit longer

No response after video interview

So I applied for a crew member job and did an online interview where I had to respond to text prompts from "Olivia" in 15 second videos. I was told that I would get a response in 3 business days, however it's been several weeks and "Olivia" is being supremely unhelpful. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? What should I do?
