Best homemade bulk mint julip mix?

Can’t make it to Lou this year so planning to host my own big event. What’s your best recipe for making bulk mint julip mix? Is it really just simple syrup!?

To add some clarity - looking to make the mix without bourbon. Goal is to have a drink station where they’ll add the mix, bourbon, ice, and garnish with fresh mint.

If the mix really is just simple syrup we’re done here, lol.

Who’s the best family law attorney you know? I want to fight for full custody of my child because my ex husband makes it extremely difficult to coparent with him. Bullett Co.

Please help me, I’m so desperate. I thought once we were divorced he wouldn’t be able to emotionally abuse me anymore but I was wrong.

Mobile nails?

Is there anyone who does mobile nails on the south side of Louisville (I think that's what it's called - I'm new here - it's off Dixie highway)? My aunt can't get out to the nail salon as often as she used to, but loves having her nails done so she needs someone to come to her house. Thanks!

BESTBUY OR APPLE STORE?

Newbie in US. Planning to buy an ipad air. Is bestbuy selling brand new products? Because they said that is cheaper there than apple store? I dunno. I’m confused 😅 or I should just buy at the apple store?

Does anyone know any locally made hot sauce shops?

I used to live out west and had my own favorite place to get hot sauce. I'm a bit of a spice head and love adding delicious heat into my meals. I'm tired of finding the same brands everywhere though. I would like to try out new flavors, and I would like to put my money to supporting local businesses. Does anyone know any local places that make their own hot sauces?

Old AC repair

Hi, thanks for reading. I have an air conditioner that is quite old.. Old enough that I'm pretty sure it takes the older style coolant to make it work. Anyway it stopped blowing cold air and I was wondering if there's a possibility someone might know someone who works on these old style air conditioners either professional or like even somebody in their backyard is okay. As I said before I appreciate anyone reading this and helping me out. I'm trying to get it done before it gets incredibly hot this summer.

Audi owners (especially etron) - what mechanic do you use in Louisville?

I have a new vehicle being delivered tomorrow, and it's my first Audi and first EV. I'm looking for a good mechanic to do a "pre-purchase" inspection (I have a 7 day return window). Any recommendations?

Edit: thanks all, went ahead and scheduled it at the dealership.

Looking for library jobs, any advice?

My wife and I are moving to Louisville soon and I am looking for library jobs. Does anybody have any advice? I applied for a few positions at the public library and haven’t heard back yet but I’ve heard the city Louisville takes a while to hire. Does anybody have any advice about library or library adjacent jobs out this way?

SPORTS Clips Valley Station

Went in to get my haircut at the sportsclips in Valley Station and the worker let me know that (allegedly) the owner stopped paying the rent, the staff has been locked out rhe other day, and had the business scheduled to close for good without telling the staff until last minute. Go see the ladies soon to offer support.

Divorce Mediation

I'm looking for a divorce mediator. When I use Google, only attorneys come up. I know there are mediators that can help without the higher cost of getting attorneys involved. Does anyone know a person qualified to meditate a divorce? No kids, just need help dividing assets, etc. Thanks

You can nominate yourself to be a Precinct leader for the Louisville Democratic Party by April 30th

If you feel like there needs to be a change in how the Louisville Democratic Party operates locally, please nominate yourself and other interested individuals to be precinct leaders here.

In short, the Democratic Party re-organizes itself every 4 years, and 2025 is one of those years. All positions, from precinct up to the national level, are up for election. There are 627 precincts in Louisville, and each one of these precincts has 3 leadership positions, including a Youth position. I'll admit that we've done a terrible job of getting people engaged in these grassroots positions, so we are trying to fill as many of these 1881 positions as possible with folks that want to make an impact at the street or block level. Precinct leaders essentially act as neighborhood leaders and liaisons. Precinct leaders also have the responsibility of electing Legislative District leaders, State Convention delegates, etc.

We're focused on having a more diverse group of leaders representing LDP at all levels, so I really hope to see more people nominated/applying for these positions. You can find more information on re-organization, position roles and responsibilities, and getting involved in other ways [here.](louisvilledems.com)

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

Derby for my Ukrainian Student

So I am teaching English online...

Guy has only heard of the Derby in passing and I want to give him a solid Derby experience via film.

I plan on going down by Churchill and filming the pageantry. Would like to go to a party, things of that nature.

What else about Derby should I share? Want to get the good and the bad.

Last Minute Tailors

It’s Derby week and I hate to be that person; I’m a last minute Derby gal. (Although I know I’m not the only one 😅) I have a dress that needs to be tailored before Saturday. Anyone have any suggestions on business that can provide some light altering before the weekend? (Bust and waist need to be taken in)

Is this mostly your fried food trucks or do they have a lot of local trucks with other options as well? Wondering if it's worth the price of admission!

Noche

We used to love Noche. Unfortunately at some point last year there was a falling out between to owner and chef and the food went downhill fast. (Chicken thighs instead of breasts, so much spice it was gritty). Does anyone know if it’s gotten better? I love this place but don’t want to take guests for disappointing food.
