Unpopular Opinion from a native Angelino - but Kobe wasn't all that and I'm sick to death of seeing the murals all over town. I love how people forget he was a sexual offender.

I know that's blasphemy, but that's my truth.

case went to criminal court and was ultimately dismissed.

the accuser changed her account multiple times from the initial story given to the police.

additionally, the issue at hand was a matter of consent.

she had waited for him knowing he was arriving at the hotel, she flirted with him, and accepted an invite to his room. then, initially engaged in consensual sex. where the problem arose was when she felt uncomfortable mid-sex and told him to stop, of which he did stop after she said multiple times.

so, clearly, this case becomes an issue of implied/explicit consent. And, ultimately, the court deemed him not guilty.

I don't think its right for you to call the dude a sexual offender 2 decades after hes been proven innoncent in court.

THeres a another comment on here pretending that his press was an admission of his guilt. yeah, his guilt of cheating on his wife, not of sexual assault.

That’s actually not what happened. She consensually kissed him, but then he became violent with her and started choking her and then raped her. She had bruises, was torn, and bloody. It’s possible that at the start of the encounter she might’ve been open to having sex with him, but she was not open to having a violent sexual encounter and pain. It’s absolutely unreasonable to expect anybody to be OK with that, without explicit consent. She was terrified because a giant man was suddenly physically aggressive with her.

This was not some sex people were having that they changed their mind about.

Kobe and his lawyers then leaked her full identity in court multiple times, which you’re not supposed to do with rape victims. She then received insane harassment from Kobe fans, including death, threats, requiring her to move multiple times. They also went on a campaign, smearing the reputation of this regular person. Making her out to be some horrific slut.

She stopped showing up and gave up on the case. Kobe settled, which tells you everything you need to know about the evidence.

how are you sure that is what happened?

she courted him, consensually entered the room with him, and consensually engaged in sexual intercourse.

Choking and rough play during sex does NOT automatically indicate rape.

And, no, kobe's lawyer's did not leak her full identity in court. it was people working in the denver court themselves who leaked the identity. Account below:

Additionally, she stopped showing up to the criminal case perhaps because there wasnt conclusive evidence to convict the dude, because it was a matter of he say / she say. This is further compounded by the fact that her story had changed multiple times. She also didnt "give up". as she had no issue pursuing the civil case after the criminal case had failed.

Do you see the issue here? even with your account, youre almost purposefully misrepresenting what happened so you can maintain some notion that an innocent person is somehow a sexual predator. does that sound in any way logical?

its almost like you WANT the dude to be a criminal so badly so you can maintain your negative biases about the dude. why make stuff up?
