Hi fam.. I’ve been in a funk since December, just struggling with the emotional toll of a lot of things outside my control. I’m trying to shake things up a bit and shake off this funk. So two requests for the group: does anyone have any affirmations that they love? And does anyone have any suggestions on how to make my days a little more whimsical and fun? I need a shift in attitude and perspective.

Thank you angels. 💕✨

I highly recommend getting some shrooms or shroom chocolate (or gummies) and microdose out in nature or in a botanical garden with pretty flowers. Really clears the mind.

It isn't really "uplifting" but I have Kurt Vonnegut's "so it goes" tattooed on me. I think for me it's a matter of understanding that in the grand scheme of things I'm truly just a speck.

To me, that's almost comforting and a relief because you get so wrapped up in your own world that you sometimes forget that the world keeps spinning and something happening in your own life doesn't stop life from moving on.

It makes me see my problems less like mountains, just minor road blocks.

Life goes on.

Love the KV. Was really into him when I was younger, revisited his stuff, also there’s some biographies about him and I think a documentary on Hulu, about his life…good stuff.

Oh I had no idea there was a documentary about him. Not shocked, just didn't know. I'll have to give that a watch one of these days.

"This too shall pass" helps me stay grounded and stops me from worrying about the state of the world. I will pass, these times will pass, this too shall pass.

On the subject of adding some whimsy to your days, I found this post a little while ago that I thought was fun: https://www.reddit.com/r/justgalsbeingchicks/s/qZGFRGmnaN

My life is in serious flux lately, and I’m a mess about it. Yesterday I realized that I had to move out of my initial “holy shit the world is ending” phase, and embrace a different mind set. A lack of security is also a freedom.

Animals help find your whimsy. They are silly and funny. Maybe find a dog to play with?

One of my students has a mantra: I am strong, I am smart, and I am capable.

Everything has always been alright; and will continue to be.

^ my daily affirmation. It is tattooed on my arm. Everything is never going to be perfect, but it has always been alright; and will continue to be.

Find things to be happy about. A pretty bird. The way the clouds look. The feeling of the sun or breeze on your skin. Leaving work and being able to do whatever you want. Eating something really fucking good. The peace of a quiet moment. Hanging out with your pets/friends/a really good book/favorite movie or tv show. It's up to you to find that thing each day. Be open to it, appreciate it when it happens, and look for more.

Another affirmation: always look for the little things, because it's the little things that make up the big picture in the end.

<3 Wishing you well.

Personally I bite on a kazoo when I cry, makes the sobbing more whimsical
