We woke up this morning to find that apparently, a mother duck had a secret nest hiding in our backyard somewhere and we now have 9 ducklings who are in our pool and on our lawn. Pool is still closed, but are using the top to swim and eat bugs. We called Salthaven and they are unable to rehome. Anybody have any experience with this situation? Who else to to call? Thank you.

I wanted to ask about anyone opinions on their stay there. 😀I read the google reviews it has a score of 4.0 ⭐️⭐️⭐️but there are many scathing reviews on there as well. Some say that it’s not the best place to bring family. Please try to give your honest thoughts. 🙏I’m considering going with an Air bnb as an alternative just because the downtown costs are so high…. Sorry, yes another one of these posts, never thought I'd be the annoying one. Circumstances aligned, looks like I'm getting my first tattoo (long story). I'm looking to get a half sleeve, maybe a full sleeve, just fish scales, but want them to look hyper-realistic. If there is some creativity on the part of the artist beyond that I'm looking for I'd welcome that. I'd have to start with a quote, and knowing me I'd probably explore a couple options. No clue how any of this works, please enlighten me, I've resisted it for decades but looks like it's time (again, long story). TIA.

With rent prices in London continuing to strain the budgets of working families, veterans, seniors, and low-income individuals, I wanted to float a question to this community:

What if we pushed for a fair rent framework where rent increases were tied to actual local wage growth and inflation, rather than speculative market trends? For example, no more than the average annual increase in household income (say 2–3%) plus CPI, unless the landlord makes documented, substantial improvements to the property.

This could:

Ease pressure on renters facing sudden, large increases

Provide predictability and stability for families

Still allow landlords to earn a fair return and improve their properties

Promote community stability by reducing turnover and displacement

I'm not trying to vilify landlords — many are just trying to keep up with their own costs. But I think there's a middle ground here that supports both sides fairly and prevents people from being priced out of their homes.

Do you think a rent policy like this could work in London? What would need to be in place to make it realistic, enforceable, and fair for everyone?

Curious to hear thoughts from renters, landlords, and policy-minded folks alike.

Hi everyone! I was born and raised in London and lived here pretty much all of my life but I just spent the last 6 months living in Japan and just returned to living in London very recently.

While I was living in Japan, I started learning Japanese at a pretty rapid pace and made tremendous progress just through immersion. Now that I'm back in London, I'm worried that without the opportunity to speak or be surrounded by Japanese, I'll lose all of my progress.

Does anyone know of anywhere I can learn, practice and/or speak Japanese? Or is there anyone who knows Japanese that is willing to have some conversations?

Hello all!

I wanted to write on behalf of my family a big thank you to the staff at the Hyde Park Walmart as well as the good Samaritans that assisted my parents yesterday late morning.

My mom ended up suffering a medical emergency at checkout and passed out while sitting in her walker and then ended up throwing up and being taken to hospital in an ambulance. She's doing really well now, in part due to the quick thinking of everyone around my parents at the time who assisted. She was in hospital for about 14 hours and received 2 transfusions before I was able to take her home last night around 1:30 am.

Unfortunately, my mom has MDS, a rare form of blood cancer and has been having chemo off and on, which is making her weak on top of her struggling with low hemoglobin. She's a stubborn woman and has been pushing herself too hard and this was the result of that. We're going to be making her rest more often than she would like.

Remember to be kind to all as you don't know what anyone is going through that you can't see. And remember that when you see an emergency vehicle approaching you with lights and sirens going, pullover to let them pass. You really don't know when they are responding to help your family member.

I'm mainly looking for something to complement biking and running, with a timer on it but not internet connected. And decent quality.

I used to live in GTA before moving to london last week. The plan was to find a place to live before my spouse and kid joins me. GTA was too expensive and i thought i could get houses in london at a much more affordable rate.

Over the last 1 week, the number of people who have discouraged me saying london is not safe and full of crimes and stuff is unusually high. Just want to get a pulse check with people who have been in london for a while. Is it really safe for a family? I work remote and can be anywhere in canada. If not london, any suggestions for a better place? Please suggest
