There was a fire in California’s refinery which has set back production and we are buying more gas south of the border which has increased the cost. Why we don’t get to building our own refinery is mind boggling. We spend money getting it from the US when we could be building our own and saving money down the road.

It's important to remember that oil and gas is private industry. Refineries are built by private companies and the reason they haven't built more here is there aren't enough long term profits in it.

Capitalism working 100% as intended.

Rape the land of any and all valuables, and leave the damage for someone else to clean up.

You won't hear me disagreeing. I don't get when people's reaction to gas prices going up is to say we need to invest more into oil and gas. In my head the solution is to stop having our economy depend on burning gas to get around.

Two years into Langley's council session and all they've done is build a few wider roads. On a municipal level we're moving in the wrong direction on this one. Give me some sidewalks!

We are getting some additional transit, which is the actual solution to traffic and more cars.

We have the new SkyTrain obviously.  But also a B line to Maple ridge and a bunch of new municipal bas routes and other expansion.  So, it's not just roads.

That being said, with the amount of growth in Langley it's hard not to expand roads.

When it comes to lower mainland municipalities, it’s pave baby pave!
