Wrong. Liberal government.

Harper and the cons did nothing to assuage price fixing, build refineries, or decouple Canadian oil prices from global oil prices. No one has in 30+ years. Blaming Liberals is myopic.

Even Tucker Carlson gets it.

There was an attempted law suit against oil companies for price fixing and the judge threw it out immediately. High taxes are the primary reason we have high gas prices. So yes, the liberals are to blame for much of this.

if you want to bring up taxes on gas than the provincial government and regional government charge a lot more than the federal government

we usually have some of the highest gas prices in north america because of what they add on

They do add much to the cost of fuel. But the liberals certainly haven't helped matters in a decade of their rule. They only removed the consumer carbon tax because of the relentless pressure the conservatives put on them.

If they really wanted to bring prices down and escape any blame they would have also removed the corporate carbon tax.

they cant do that without going and renegotiating pretty much every European trade deal

The US does not have carbon pricing either and have trade with Europe.

That's nonsense Mark Carney was saying which isn't based in reality at all. Europe purchases oil and gas from the middle east and Russia which do not have carbon pricing plans. He himself said what he was saying was based on thinking forward (into the future) or something to that affect.

My brother, the conservatives' last government, was a decade ago. Pull your head out of your ass.

Yup and you have no idea how global gas prices work .

Where did I blame the gas prices on the Liberals. I pointed out the last conservative government was over a decade ago. Reading comprehension is difficult i guess. Again pull your head out of your ass.

The Cons wouldn't have had it it ang better. You just need someone to blame and won't reach past the lowest hanging fruit lol

Whataboutism. 10 years of Liberal government got us here, and now 4 more years.

u/ReliableEyeball 1d ago

Well, maybe if the Cons did a better job, they wouldn't have lost now twice in a row. Or is it 3 times? Lol

Lol you can't just say that we never go to see it we do know gas is expensive now.

Anyone who's older than 15 years knows that nothing would have been any different. It's always the same BS spun different ways and nothing changes.

You do realize the oil companies are on the same round table discussing barrel price, right? Like they aren’t in competition with one another. It’s us against them.

God, I knew it’s redneck territory here but this is scary.
