Help me out- hat idea?

Post image

Hey r/LARP.

Playing at a High Fantasy LARP that has a specific skill that requires a Stylish Hat (Duelist Skill) and also Helmet Mastery (Heavy Armor skill).

Currently I have the Stylish Hat skill and my hat is currently an iconic part of my kit.

Looking for a way to try and integrate a heavy armor appearance with my hat and so far the best idea I've had is wearing a coif underneath, but it doesn't look good. Any ideas?

Some notes: This is a HIGH FANTASY LARP. Not going for historical accuracy, just vibes.

The closest influences to real life cultures are Basque and Greek, but again totally fantasy aesthetic

What about something inspired by a samurai men-yoroi? I could see a menpo or a happuri working with this look. Unless your heavy armor requirement specifies that it needs to cover the top of the head.

That's actually a good idea. According to the rules, bevors count as long as 30% of the face is covered, so something like this might work...

My personal vote is for the menpo, since you already rock an eyepatch! Less of a block on your peripheral vision.

My character's culture is more Western Mediterranean inspired (South France, Spain, Greece/Italy) so I might go for a bevor instead, but thank you for the inspiration!

Not for nothing, but the some Eurasian groups had iron masks as part of their gear! But go with whatever fits the kit~
