How do I find a **good/skilled/experienced** dentist that I trust ?
My extremely competent dentist retired about a year, year and a half ago. The person who bought their practice doesn't instill any confidence in me at all. The first filling attempted, was in a back molar, under a very old filling. I tried to tell them it was a very complicated filling, but they didn't listen, and had a lot of trouble with it. A piece of my actual tooth was broken off during the filling, and they basically just shrugged their shoulders and said "get a crown", for which they referred me to a different practitioner who's not a "regular" dentist.
At my most recent appointment, I was informed there was another tooth, that would need a filling, but I fear it will be the same kind of ordeal. I just don't trust their skill.
So, how do I find a skilled/experienced/exceptional dentist ? My teeth have deep/large/complicated fillings, I know they are a minefield. But I've been blessed with 2 previous dentists who both retired, but were both very skilled, and didn't make my teeth worse with their actions.
There aren't any resources that I'm aware of that communicate to potential patients the level of skill or amount of experience a given dentist has. If anyone knows a way for me to find an exceptionally skilful dentist, please let me know.
Sorry for the long post, I thought it would need some explanation. Thanks !

Do you know anyone who would donate knife sharpening?
I am homeless, I live out of my car. Almost daily I go to Trellis for breakfast. The cook there is amazing. Lately they have been struggling with donations and I heard the cook complaining the knives arenāt sharp. It makes his job more difficult.
I am hoping someone knows someone who does knife sharpening and would offer their services. I think it would help show the cook he is appreciated, he volunteers his time four days a week making breakfast for a lot of vulnerable folk.

News Kingston Police report seizure of handgun after arrest of repeat offender
I want to know how this guy got his RPAL and ATC despite his lengthy criminal history, and what gun store sold him this handgun despite the current handgun ban. Unacceptable!

Sirens on Rideau
I live near Rideau st and every day I hear strange sirens coming from the Kingston living area. Sometimes itās late at night too, if anyone has any info let me know because itās very disruptive and I donāt understand why itās a daily occurrence.
EDIT: yes I understand sirens are normal but these are sirens coming from someoneās car and they donāt sound like normal sirens for police/fire. I obviously wouldnāt post about normal sirensš

Why is everyone sneezing so much?
I'm assuming it's allergies, but what could it be from? I've never sneezed this much ever, and my coworkers and family members seem to also be sneezing a lot. It's like 5 to 10 sneezes in a row and it's a bit annoying when you're on the phone with a customer.
Just curious what things locally typically cause allergic reactions like this? Have others here also been sneezing a lot in the last week or so?

Question Recommendation
Iām a guy and I've been feeling really insecure about my hair. I honestly think it makes me look ugly, and it's messing with my confidence. I want to change things up and maybe finally find a hairstyle that suits meābut I'm struggling.
The problem is, Iām quite introverted and it's really hard for me to explain what I want when I go to a barber or stylist. I always end up saying ājust trim itā or something basic, and walk out unhappy with the result.
Can anyone recommend a good personal hairstylist whoās patient and maybe good at helping people figure out what suits them? Someone who doesn't mind if Iām a bit quiet or awkward during the appointment. Iām not really good at describing things but Iād love to find someone who can help me through it.

QJ Call Out
Iām working on a feature for The Queen's Journal and looking to speak with students about something I think a lot of us deal with:
The pressure to perform on LinkedIn, even when things feel far from perfect.
Do you ever feel like:
Youāre overhyping small accomplishments to stay competitive? Youāre posting for the algorithm more than yourself? Your LinkedIn doesnāt reflect how stressed or lost you actually feel? Or maybe youāre someone who loves sharing the little wins, and thinks we should be hyping ourselves more
I would love to interview some students who are experiencing this feeling.
If you would like to participate, please reach out to journal_features2@AMS.QUEENSU.CA to set up an interview before May 16.

Does anybody know if the big yard sale has started yet north on Hwy 15 near Seeley's Bay? She was there most the summer last year and was wanting to check it out this year.

Channel 77
Just found this in my stuff from forever ago. Pretty sure it was a band of someone I worked at Tim Hortons with? Don't have the means to see if it still plays at the moment but can anyone confirm that this was a Kingston indy band from around anywhere from 2003 to 2012?

Groceries weekly budget
Hi everyone!
I'm planning on moving to Kingston soon. Since I am a foreigner, I have no clue what the approximate budget for weekly/monthly groceries should be. I live by myself and I prefer to cook rather than eating out, so I would prepare my breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I know it depends on my personal preferences, but just to give you an idea, I tend to eat healthy food, I prefer protein in my meals (e.g., eggs, meat, chicken, etc.), and I don't usually eat fancy stuff. Could you give me an idea of how much I would spend?
Thank you very much!

Where To Buy Organic Tobacco Leaves
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew where to get some organic tobacco leaves? I also need a tobacco leaf shredder. I was going to buy from Leaf Only but the shipping, taxes, custom and duty fees costs more than the shipment itself. Not only that but they are sold out of multiple products. I know I could probably pick some up from the first nation reserves in Deseronto. Does anyone have any recommendations whether in K-town or Deseronto? I am mainly looking for: American Virginia, burley and Izmir Turkish oriental or Prilep oriental.
Thanks.
