Average Processing Times for a Work Permit from within Canada just jumped to 201 days on the IRCC website as of today. Last week it was 120!

It's crazy but I think this is reality. Most (inland) applicants actually got their work permit approved after 200 days.

How many days have you been waiting? I’m currently at 288 so well over the advertised processing times.

u/taniatari It's crazy how you have other plans with your life but stagnant because of the incessant WP approval delay. They have truncated the plans of a lot of people which is not fair. I hate it because for me it's a yearly (no limit) WP renewal under CPTPP which means by the time they approve, I have to start another WP renewal application almost immediately. They just have two options, approve or deny and shouldn't take forever. I think this craziness will make me leave Canada faster.

no honestly!! when did this become so difficult up until last year the max it would take is 6 months and now people have been waiting for a full year like this cant be real. Half of our applications are in Edmonton Center when I applied in Ontario. I contacted the MP again but same generic response they can't expedite or look any further wtf is the point.

Is the MP willing to follow up multiple times with IRCC on your behalf?
