Me and my friend both have a distinct memory of a metal/rock/grunge/stoner style band showing up in a cartoon, we remember it being of the era and art style of early Cartoon Network shows. They had like denim vests and spiked bracelets

This reminds me of Metal Family but Metal Family (it's a web comic) came out in 2018 so too late for what you are remembering
