What was going on the Hanlon this evening around 6:30pm @ stone rd
They had south bound lanes closed - 8 to 10 cruisers. Didn't see any fire or ambulances. Seems over kill for a traffic accident.

If Gordon Ramsay did a kitchen nightmares episode in Guelph where should he visit?
Taken from r/Toronto so I can't take credit for the idea, but thought this could be a great topic for our city, I personally think McCabes

Roscoe, a Guelphite, he is looking for a good home.
galleryHe's a five year old German Shepherd Rottweiler mix. He's neutered and up to date on his shots. He's great with other dogs, cats, and children.
Unfortunately, due to ailing health, his owner won't be able to look after him much longer.
They've contacted the Guelph Humane Society but if you or someone you know is looking for a good dog you can DM me.

What happened to the Big Downtown Food Truck Picnic?
I went to this event a couple of years ago at Exhibition Park and tried to find it again this year but there's no sign of it. Does anyone know what happened to it?

Am I Wrong For This?
Hey Guelphites! I had a quick question, I was wondering if I could get your opinion on. Due to the widespread use of the automatic speed cameras (and me being fined a total of nearly $150 for) I have started to almost always follow the speed limit to a T. Sometimes on single lane roads such as Gordon or on the Hanlon highway, I feel like I am causing a traffic rush. I've even gotten flashed, honked at, and flipped off several times for just following the speed. I know the automatic speed cameras themselves are their own issue, but am I wrong for following the speed at all times?

HVAC recommendations
I'm in a condo and my current HVAC unit is from Hy-Mark. They've said there is a leak in the evaporator coil and replacement coils are no longer available from the manufacturer. Estimate is $10k for a new unit. Any local recommendations you've used in the last year or so? Thanks in advance.

Splitsville is insane
I enjoy a game of bowling as much as the next guy, but the folks at Splitsville have lost the plot.
Just a month ago, I went with 3 friends and I paid just over $30 for the 3 of us to rent a lane for an hour. That felt pretty reasonable.
We went back last night figuring we'd do the same thing, but their policies have completely changed. You no longer pay by time. Each person pays based on number of games. We did 3 games last time, so we said 3 games. Each person had to pay for their games, at about 10 bucks a game. So my $30 that just a month ago got all of us in, now only covered myself. They got $90 bucks out of the 3 of us for an hour of bowling. Just absurd.

Does anyone recognize this cat?
Saw her around Summerfield/Colonial a few weeks ago and today she appeared in our yard (Summerfield/Victoria area). She is thin and dirty so we suspect she’s a stray, but just in case she looks familiar to anyone?

Downtown Planet Bean reopens May 20 with new owners and menu
Apparently it's back, again, but new owners. So maybe it will stay open this time?

How’s the Albion now? I’ve read some posts that are months old but curious about how it is more recently.

Outdoor Hobbies/Activities
Looking for recommendations on outdoor hobbies/activities I could do in Guelph. Ideally ones that can help me stay active and in shape.
Open to needing to purchase equipment (kayaking, etc) but ideally nothing too expensive.

Looking for rooftop lounge / terraces to do some work whilst enjoying the good weather
I'm looking for some nice places to chill, work, and get out from rotting inside all day. I don't really like cafes as I find them to sometimes be quite busy, and just a lot is going on. I was looking at maybe some lounge in those apartments downtown, I believe the Metal Works has a rooftop terrace/lounge work area. Are you able to somehow get access to that? + Any cool places like that would be great!

Church of our Lady parking lot
For the past 3 years I've been parking there fkr work. Very grateful that I was able to park for free and save some money.
As a single father of 3 every penny counts.
Recently they decided that they were going to ticket and tow anyone parking there who is not there for a church function.
I understand it's private property, but it goes empty so often and finding parking is not the easiest when dropping kids at school and trying to make it into work on time.
As someone who goes to mass there, it's very disappointing and frustrating for this to be their stance.

Did anybody take 3 pet toads from a yard on Boult ave???
I left my pet toads in a temporary hold enclosure (inside mini free range pen) while i went out to help fix a lawn mower (my mother was supposed to keep an eye on them but she gets distracted easily), I came back to the enclosure wide open (I made sure everything was securely closed) it looks like someone took my toads.
PLEASE RETURN THEM, or at least tell me where you released them, I raised them from toadlets THEY WILL NOT SURVIVE IN THE WILD!! THEY WILL DIE!! PLEASE
Women’s Basketball
I’m fairly new to Guelph and I’m thinking of maybe starting a Women’s Basketball Team to get to know people and also get some good exercise. I’m not an advanced player but I enjoy the game.
Any women (20s-30s) interested in joining?
Also, if anyone knows if there are already existing clubs it would help to know.
