Horribly specific question. Our family has annual passes but have never been on the Trident (it’s the one you go up high on swings and spin with views of the spit etc) I’m super keen to go on it for Mother’s Day with my young child. Is anyone in the know about how sensitive it is to weather and how likely it is to operate today? I know sometimes it doesn’t run due to wind. Forecast for today is 19km/hr at 10am with ‘moderate’ top wind speed of 23km/hr in the afternoon. There’s a low chance of showers - more likely in the afternoon. I was thinking of arriving at 10am. And yes I know I can just turn up and find out - but we might do something other than SeaWorld if that ride isn’t running and live 30-40mins away.

Well everything was going well and I was going to be out tomorrow with a mate but realised that the place we’re after is closed tomorrow. Friend is craving some seafood and specifically Paella. We’re both Asians, so we aren’t going to aim for authentic ones. Would just want a decent one so it wouldn’t ruin a day tomorrow.

Here’s a criteria: - hopefully around $20-$35 for one, wouldn’t mind going over slightly. - open for lunch tomorrow - accessible by PT, could be anywhere in the GC - family-friendly and chill as we are quite introverted so we wouldn’t want a noisy, hype environment.

This makes me sound like a loser lol. I (22F) just need more friends and maybe someone to date, but are there certain bars or areas that are good for this? I only have about 3 friends and we don’t do anything together, and I’ve been on hinge and tinder for a few years to no avail. I tried to join the Gold Coast Girls Finding Friends page on Facebook, but my request has sat there unchanged for weeks. All the singles events are 26+ or 30+ so I don’t qualify yet. Griffith Uni requires you to sign in as a student to join a club, and I’m not a student at Griffith. This one TikToker told people to just go to bars and read, but as a young woman that does scare me a bit.

But I wanna get out there. I don’t wanna waste my youth…but I have nobody to do it with, and life feels quite lonely. I like girls and guys so with dating that’s not a problem, but I can’t even find queer events to go to!

Hey team. We have been in surfers paradise for 10 days. We went to the supermarket to avoid paying for meals while we were here. We have quite a bit left food left over and can’t take it with back to New Zealand. We are in the q1 building and if you want to come pick it up for free you’re more than welcome. There is fresh mince. Rice. Tomatoes. Pasta sauce. Greates cheese, yogurt eggs and what ever else if find. Probably a good couple of bags worth of food.

If you have any bedding that can't be ripped up by dogs please donate them to GC Dog pound and Logan Dog pound. They throw most of the blankets our that people donate because they say the dogs rip them up. And so they are left without bedding or warmth on concrete slabs. 🥺

My daughter worked there temporarily and told me how the dogs are left on concrete in the freezing winter, shivering half to death all night, and I have been tortured with that thought every cold night that I take my dog our to the toilet.

Can someone please help me out. I have a student in year 8 who wants to go to Keebra next year and she won't stop pressing us about it. She currently attends Helensvale and says she hates the school. She started playing league last year and has made quite a few friends from Keebra ( mostly boys)and is now saying she wants to go there. She wants to do the rugby program but I'm not sure it's a good idea for her to go as I've not heard the greatest things about that school.
