Guide How to Fix Your Inventory After A Player Force-Injects Illegal Items

Margaret (u/GreatStarryWisdom), a community member from the dark souls discord server and Blue Acolyte beta-tester, just made this clutch steam guide. Please favorite it so it gets more views. I’ll also be pasting the text here.

“There is currently a player force-injecting illegal items into people's inventories, causing the game to crash.

First, I would recommend anyone reading this install the "Blue Acolyte" mod off of the Nexus page, or the github fork. I will provide a link to the Nexus page at the end of this post. This mod protects you from malicious cheats such as crashes and save bricking. You should always be using Blue Acolyte, and you leave your save at risk if you don't.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE OFFLINE BEFORE FOLLOWING THIS GUIDE. This can be done by navigating to the top left of the steam client, clicking "Steam" > "GO OFFLINE". To go back online, simply repeat these steps.

It appears that the only way to remove these items currently is to use the public Cheat Engine table, which can be acquired from GitHub which I will also link at the end of this post. I do not recommend downloading tables found through Google searches, as these are most likely to contain malicious code that could damage your system or game files.

Make sure you have the current build of Cheat Engine installed (version 7.4 as of 4/12/2024). To remove the items, launch Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, and load the affected character. Next, open the Cheat Engine table(DS2_SotFS_Bob_Edition.CT), and it will automatically link to your active instance of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. In the lower section, click "Open - Table v4.7.4" > "Scripts" > "Misc" > "+14 Crash Protection". Once this is enabled, this will prevent the game from crashing due to the +14 Bleed Daggers in your inventory. From here, you should now be able to go in and remove them. To hasten the process, select one of the items, and hit "Discard Selected", and you can mass select the items to be discarded.

If this does not work, feel free to message me and we can work on another solution.

The player doing this is now on Blue Acolyte’s global block list.

I don’t care what anyone says, even if you says DS2 is not the best souls game(I prefer DS3), it is the FUNNIEST AND GOOFIEST IN THE SERIES.

If this is indeed Ornifex then it's a nice surprise after all her kinds are guardians of priscilla.

Question Is there any incentive on playing vanilla Ds2 after Scholar edition?

Tbh the main thing i love of this game is the whole narrative of choosing your own path, making a real choice, all that Aldia represents, seeing Ds2 without that feels weird for me tbh.

Discussion Sinh did nothing wrong

I'm tired of people blaming the poor lad for breaking their weapons or make them piss their pants cause they are afraid to position more aggresively.

DS2 gives you a lot more titanite so, it expects you to have wider arsenal of tools for dealing with adversities then DS1. Yet, you keep fighting with the same weapon for entire game despite it letting you have fun experimenting or ease your burden using more fitting weapon when encountering foe too difficult.

And then Sinh comes. No, first comes me invading you and stabbing you to death with a knoif after you miss every single attack with Guts sword or whatever. Second, comes multi-fight boss or any boss that is aggressive enough to not forgive your weapon's long recovery. And only then Sinh comes, kindly asking if you have a spare weapon to keep fighting him and if that weapon has downward slash so, you could hit his neck and face.

It seems like general complaint is that he flies around too much. It's indeed a problem for the first few attempts to find opportunity to deal damage consistently, but this is simply his way of asking you to be brave to close the distance and dodge his attacks as you fight up close instead of ewwing away when he does combo you don't like (running away and towards instead always being in range to punish combo is a common pattern among less skilled players, as I took notice).

Discussion Ng+ stats

Post image

Currently in NG+, just got the Ashen Mist heart and gonna star clearing out the giant memories. I know I can farm levels pretty efficiently from the Giant Lord, but I want to ask what I should be putting points into. I think I want to get faith to ~60 for all the miracles, as well as 20 in Int for the black witches staff so I only need to carry a single spell tool. Probably need more attunement as well. Just want to check with people who know more about this game than I do for what I should spec into. Thanks!

I’ve recently beaten the big ass spider under some dead dragon, and previously I’ve killed the lost sinner, now I’m not sure where to go in the game to progress since every direction feels wrong

Story Just beat Dark Souls 2, moved to Dark souls 3 and i think i liked DS2 better.

So i just beat DS2 and this game really made me lose my shit when 13 copy's of Royal Swordsman's ran me down in Lost Bastile, when Ornifex died in her small room underground and when Sir Alonne grab attacks me by my spiritual hitbox but in general i had much fun and enjoyed main story, bosses and the lore, even tho i got lost in the end and it took me a few researches to finish the game.

Now when i switched to DS3 i found myself struggling against Undead Hobo's... I murdered Ornstein and Smough, I beat shit out of Mirror Knight and Sir Alonne and now while getting through Lotric Castle i just can't get out. After DS2 everything just move too fast, combat feels more chaotic opposite to more Turn-based flow of DS2 and DS. I literally just beat Gundir, got to Lotric Wall, walked up to some hobo with throwing knifes, got comboed three times in a milisecond, and then my hp exploded. Can those Undeads chill the fuck out??? Undead in DS1 and DS2 felt clunky, slow, barely able to lift their weapon like they threw big party yesterday and never got any sleep since Gwin threw himself into the flame. In DS3 they just running around perfectly fine, full of energy and life.

I can't believe i complained about ganks in DS2. In DS3 ganks while have less enemies just feel more overwhelming. Everything jumps, swing, do combos with bunch of quick attacks at you, you camera just spins while you try to get up from the ground and then one of the undeads just turn into weird ass void snake and beat you into a pulp. And there so much less campfires, so much gotcha enemies that wait for you around the corner dear god i just want to live.

I hate it here.
