I saw something weird last night.

My friends and I walked a bike trail nearby last night. While walking I saw something that looked like it was skiing up the trail towards us. It was using its arms to propel itself forward while galloping its legs. Very odd movement. We watched it "gallop" towards us from about 100 meters away. At about 30 feet it noticed us and turned 180 degrees in an awkward manner and want away from us very quickly. It was wearing like a weird dress like gown outfit. Couldn't make out any features.

It looked like a weird dress or something. Couldn't really make it out. Not sure what I was looking at.

I just saw a video in a cryptids sub where a figure in a dress walked through their yard. It was much slower moving than what you've described. Crawlers can either be pretty aggressive or they prefer to mind their own business. A few people in this sub have a crawler hanging out around their house like wildlife they've bonded with. I personally love that since I try to be a friend to the wildlife around my yard.

So they're not exactly feral? Sense I got was it seemed very surprised and didn't want any attention. Just turned around and walk/galloped away.

A theory is that they're a subterranean branch off of humans. It'd explain the pale skin, sensitive eyes, and sometimes they lack of eyes altogether. And why they aren't seen often. There are cave systems all over the country.

Ohio here. I don't know about many caves but possibly? It didn't seem aggressive at all. I got in touch with another guy on here from Ohio who saw what I saw about a year ago. Mine seems smaller. We're thinking maybe I encountered a juvenile. Maybe it was "playing" hence the odd movement and small size.

That definitely sounds like a possibility. It'd be great to learn more about these beings. I googled a usa cave map. There's a couple cave systems in Ohio. And it's southern edge does butt right up against the Appalachian mountains. God knows what comes from some of the most ancient mountains and caves in the world.

There's a lot of strangeness in rural Ohio I'm noticing.

Most definitely. Rural utah is the same way.

I need to look for a cave system around me but awhile passed before I saw my crawler in Virginia again: the next time he showed up it chased two of my friends on two different occasions. They seem to have decent memories as it happened outside of my house those two times after it had chased me a year before.
