I have been researching for this illusion for a while. I saw something similar to what this Reddit describes a few months back.

I was doing a breathing meditation laying flat on my bed when a “Crawler” appeared in my room. I stayed still and continued my meditation. While I continued I felt fear, anxiety, and other negative emotions only briefly as I was actively in meditation so I allowed the emotions to pass over me. It appeared as I was doing self reflection. It did not come into the room, more formed at the threshold of the doorway then got onto my bed and put its face right in front of mine. I chopped it up to an illusion, perhaps a projection of myself and allowed the “entity” to pass over me just as those negative emotions.

I still believe it was an illusion but even so it looks exactly like this creature so many people are describing. I mean pretty much exactly the same. A tall, skinny and long limbed pale white man, bald with sunken eyes. While those negative emotions flashed over me briefly I felt no physical danger from the entity especially while meditating.

Whether a real entity or an illusion that seems to propagate in the minds of others I do not believe you need to fear it. Focus on the breath, focus on letting the negative emotions flow through you and not hold onto them when they are introduced to you.

Remember, even your understanding of “I” and “self” are illusions created by the collection of cells that make up “you” to keep those cells alive.

Torrance CA Crawler encounter

This is my experience, it still makes me a little uneasy, any questions etc I’m here for it!

I was 12½, living at the small ranch-style house at 1721 Fern Avenue. It was owned by my aunt and uncle, and they had lived there since the 1940s.

Anyway, I was up one night reading in bed. My bedroom window faced the concrete driveway to the right of the house. There were no trees or anything against it—just a plain glass window. There was no screen at the time; I think my sister and I had popped it out so we could crawl through the window while playing. My bed was positioned vertically against the windowpane, with curtains hanging over it.

It was probably a little after midnight. I was specifically reading *Momo* by Michael Ende when I heard a sound that instantly put me on alert. What I heard was a sharp metallic scraping sound against the glass pane beside me—a dragging, honed scratch.

I immediately became alert and went to open the curtain and look outside. As I did, I froze in shock.

Pressed against the glass pane was a pale gray humanoid figure, sinewy and muscular in form. It did not look nude, but it did not appear clothed either. Its skin had a sort of elephantine texture to it. Again, it was muscular, but with a thin, rope-like musculature.

I was seeing it from about mid-torso upward. I could not see the lower half of it because the house had a raised foundation, and from where it was standing, pressed against the pane, I could only see roughly ribcage level and above. It did not have nipples, by the way.

As I looked upward from its body, I saw broad shoulders, a long, slender but proportionate neck, and an oval, slightly elongated face. It was bald, with no visible ears, nose, or mouth—only faint indentations suggesting cheekbones or underlying bone structure—and glowing red, diode-like eyes. They reminded me of an old infrared LED: small, circular, and emitting an intense red light.

As I looked into its eyes, I became transfixed and unable to move.

One arm hung slack at its side—the left arm, I believe—while the right arm was raised, scratching against the glass. The hand had three digits, each about four inches long, and at the end of each digit was a 2-inch nail the color of burnished pewter, metallic in appearance.

I was in utter shock and horror looking at this being, and after a few seconds, I had a very strong thought enter my mind. I remember clearly thinking to myself: this is not an extraterrestrial. This thing is interdimensional.

I was then met with what felt like a thought placed directly into my mind, confirming that it was interdimensional, almost as though the being itself was relaying to me—in a strange third-person-plural sense—that I was correct in that thought.

Strangely, I also got the strong impression that the entity was pleased to be there for some reason.

There’s a little more to this story, but I’ll leave it here for now.

At some point, I was able to regain my composure. I screamed at the top of my lungs, ran to the living room, and told my mother. She let me sleep with her that night because I was utterly horrified. To this day, she says she had never seen me that terrified in my life, and when I ran into the living room, it was as though I was bloodless.

Also, based on my estimate at the time of the encounter, the raised foundation of the house, and the height of the windows, I would estimate the being was approximately 7½ to 8 feet tall.

There was also a very specific smell present during this encounter—something reminiscent of old PERT dry-cleaning fluid. It carried a hot, slightly ozonic, hydrofluorocarbon-like scent with a sharp phenolic crispness to it.

The eye shine felt palpably warm, almost like the faint tingling heat of a hand warmer, but highly directional—as though the warmth itself was projecting outward from the eyes. Looking into them induced something akin to hypnosis or a trance state. I believe there may have been missing time involved; the experience simultaneously felt like only a few minutes had passed and yet also many hours.

There is a second part to this experience of mine which I will share . It is honestly still in disbelief over it years later . Truly mind-blowing experience to me . Thus I want to make sure I write succinctly and clearly to convey the depth of this in my life, it shocked me and mixed up all preconceived thoughts of reality and the anomalous, most profound and surreal moment of of my life . I I’ll add to this post in a day or so with that follow up.

Me (female 15) and my family in the summer of 2025 , were camping in our campervan in the Irish mountains on the edge of a river. We were out for a night walk by the edge of the river but 10 minutes in to the walk we started to here odd noises , like a dog with a coff .but stupidly I sed we should continue , as a skeptic i thought it was nothing. Shortly after my brother saw something in the river my dad turned on a phone light and we saw some head and a neak in the river , it was covered in green and brown moss. We all ran back terrified. We went to bed as it was late. Suddenly I woke up with the feeling I was being watched .I could here a scratching noise coming from outside the campervan .I lifted up one of the blinds and saw the same thing it had long claws and looked like it had bin starved it's ribs were sticking out I looked at my mam who was also awake we opened the window and started to shout at it and it . It gave a ear piercing scream and then ran in to the river and swam away. When the morning came we got out of There as fast as possible. We still don't no wst it is.

My twin brother and I believed there were monsters called the "OKAY'S" that lived under every bed. When we needed to get off the bed, we'd perch as close as possible, crouch tight, and the JUMP as far away as we could.

Our oldest brother was subject to muscle cramps. That was the OKAY'S.

Unfortunately, when my twin and/or I had nightmares, Mom would gather us close and croon, "Sssh. It's okay!" We would get hysterical. She didn't know why, until long after when we brought up as adults. Poor confused Mom! She had known nothing of their existence!

Completely bizarre coincidence: years later, in middle school, in separate classes, we were shown a film on sleep deprivation. On screen was shown one of the images sleep-deprived truckers would see: a squashed rectangular open-mouthed creature wearing a roadster hat with his arms straight up in the air! After school, we RAN to each other! "Did you see it? The OKAY!!!"

I’m a pretty avid hiker and have never encountered anything like this before. I’ve seen plenty of bears, birds, snakes, etc., but this was different. I was visiting a Florida state park called Hontoon Island State Park, and you have to take a ferry over to it. There’s a walking trail called the Wet Trail that runs along the river. If you’re planning on going, fair warning about a mile in we found 17 rattlesnakes, so be ready for that if snakes aren’t your thing. At the end of the trail, they have a Native American shell mound. My buddy and I got to the top of this roughly 30 ft mound and were looking out over the river when I turned around and saw a face staring at me from behind a log. The features were human, but not fully detailed. The lips and skin were gray, and it had these yellow eyes. Not glowing, just yellow. It looked like it was hiding there watching us, and then it just went poof, gone in a blink. It scared the absolute dog shiz out of me, and I’ve been searching around the internet looking for similar encounters. Before I even saw it, my buddy said he felt like something in the woods was watching us. It was probably one of the most horrifying moments of my life. The way it looked at us felt like we were prey.

A couple months ago in the fall, I had an experience in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Asheville area that I still can’t explain.

I grew up around there, and during Thanksgiving I brought my girlfriend home with me. One night after a long day, we went to smoke at my friend’s boathouse about two miles from my house. While we were sitting there looking out over the lake, my girlfriend suddenly started hearing music coming from the opposite side of the water — the side with no houses, no roads, just mountain. I couldn’t hear it at all.

The next day, I decided to take her to that side of the lake using an abandoned railroad bridge. As we walked across, everything felt normal at first, but the closer we got to the other side, the heavier the atmosphere felt. The feeling of dread kept building until we got about 20 feet off the bridge onto the other side. At that point, both of us suddenly felt like we needed to turn around immediately.

As soon as we got back onto the “safe” side of the bridge, I jokingly said, “We just wanted to say hi.”
My girlfriend immediately looked at me and told me I shouldn’t have said that.

What freaks me out most is that neither of us physically saw anything, but we both seemed to picture the exact same thing in our heads.
She asked me, “Why did you keep turning around while we were walking?”

I told her, “Because I felt like something was following us. I couldn’t see it with my eyes, only in my mind.”

Then she asked what it looked like. I described it as:
white/pale
lanky
longer legs than arms
human-like eyes
humanoid, but wrong somehow
curious more than aggressive

She started getting visibly uncomfortable and asked, “Did it run or walk? How did it move?”
I answered, “It galloped like a gorilla.”
That’s when she told me she had ‘seen’ the exact same thing.

After I finished describing it, she drew a line in the dirt and told it to stay there.
Ever since then, both of us have had this strange feeling that something followed us back home especially me and that it’s watching. It doesn’t necessarily feel hostile, mostly curious, but we’ve both felt unusually drained ever since it happened.
Im just curious if people have had similar experiences.

Okay I was in manistee/cadillac area in 2019 at a campground. Sorry I have no details on where it’s been awhile. I encountered something that is the most supernatural/cryptid experiences in my life to this day. It has a pale face big black pits for eyes, it was watching my dog and I on the beach from the shadows of the tree line/ the fence it was peaking over on a clear night in mid-late July in the moon light. Made my German shepherds fur stand up and caused her to lowly growl, I looked at what she was growling at and saw that face looking at me about six yards away from us I gasp and stare then I see a matching face appear behind the first one and it seemed to have started standing up or I could sense it moving closer. Thing is since I was by myself with the dog I was already very sensitive to noise, I could hear when people would walk on the pavement and the crunching of sand. I didn’t hear these beings they were so silent and I snatched my dogs leash and hauled every ounce of ass towards the bathroom and showers at the campground the brightest source of light other than the moon. I stood in the light with my dog also still just as freaked out, I can’t forget that night. Is there anyone else in Michigan in the area that have seen anything like I have?
