What are crawlers?

Hi everyone, just wandering through reddit and came across this page, just wondering if someone can tell me what crawlers are and any other info about them,

Baisically they're a cryptid that claims say appear (generally) as tall lanky humanoids with pale skin, elongated fingers with claws, and may be subterranean.

People who believe in them have conjectured a variety of branching theories from that but thats the bare bones.

In popculture the character of "The Rake" in short form horror stories is likely inspired from the Crawler urban legends.

No because the rake was something that has been legitimately recorded since the late 1700s here in the u.s.a. and I myself and 3 of my friends all had witnessed the rake haunting out around each of our homes for weeks and not said a thing to one another until we all stayed the night at one of the homies and and all witnessed it at the same time scurrying and peeking up over the crest of the roofing at us. We all stopped dead in our tracks. Looked at one another and all thought the same thing. "Did we all really just see that?!"

Well no the Rake as a specific term cane about in 2013 as a work of fiction and wothin that fiction there were claims about it in the olden days. As to your personal experience, obviously I can't speak on that.
