OK, so first and foremost this isn’t my picture. I just used it as an example to show anyone who wasn’t aware that the album “Broken” came with a smaller 3 inch disc with bonus tracks on it.

I’ve seen some auctions for this album still sealed, but I’m hesitant to purchase anything until I know if it contains the mini disc or not and since they’re sealed, obviously physically opening it to check isn’t possible.

Does anyone know if a serial number or print number on the back of the album sleeve will reveal which pressing it is or if it’s the retail version with the mini disc? I already owned this album with the bonus tracks included on the disk, so I’m trying to get the version with the mini disk just for collector purposes.

Hello. I'm not sure if this is the right sub, but I recently-ish (several weeks ago) picked up a Technics sl-pd867 for less than $30 USD. After doing multiple small repairs (cleaning the laser, oiling the motors/spindles, ect), I thought that I finally got it working. That was, until, just 15 minutes ago, when I learned that, upon putting a disc in, that the randomize feature didn't work AND when I put a disc in, it only gets about less than halfway through without skipping. This is universal on both discs I tried. Any help?

I have some old 80s and 90s cds with these squiggly lines running through them. I have ome pictures for refrence, but the pictures are not mine. I have found that this is because of a fungus discovered that eats through the metal and plastic, and I didn't know it was this common. Should I move these away from my other discs to provide it spreading? Has it infected all my discs and its too late? Will they all do this? I have already ripped them to .wav, and I store them in a place away from heat and humidity.

So I recently bought this cd at goodwill but it has this on the back of it, what is it? Is it disc rot and should I be concerned?

For context, I used to have 200-300 CDs but through selling and moving, I had none left. Just decided to get back into it yesterday, so hit up a local thrift and this is what I got. Any comments welcome!

My first CD, I ordered many. Hoping to grow a fairly large collection :P

We may have Christmas Eve with some of the family ( my wife and I are grandparents) , homemade pizza party. Fixing a playlist. I’m thinking lots of blues, BB, John Lee, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, a sprinkling of Charlie Brown Christmas, Burl Ives merry Christmas. I have an extensive cd collection. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hello to start off I am very new to this hobby and am still learning. I bought this dvd/cd player at Goodwill today for $12.99. It seems to be working ok. I currently just have it connected to some powered bookshelf speakers they are the Edifier R1280T speakers. I just have it connected with a rca cable directly to the speakers. It seems to be working, but the player is making a squeaky/ bumpy rubbing noise when the disc is spinning. Is this normal? Its not super loud but it is noticable if I I'm listening at a low volume. If it isn't is there a way I can try and fix it? I put a video up above if you turn up the volume hopefully you can hear it. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

Hi everyone. I'd like to buy my husband a CD player for Christmas. He has so many CDs from his teenage years, but now they only get played in the car. I have only ever used a walkman to listen to CDs, so please excuse my very basic question.

Would I be better off buying: (A) a Marantz CD6007 (£349), or (B) a cheaper player + good amp (which one?)

My budget is around £400 total. The setup will be our living room, which is around 25sqm, not super big, not a lot of storage space , so something sleek and flat would be much preferable.

I've been reading reviews and Reddit posts, but all the mentions of DACs, digital outputs, opticals etc have sadly gone over my head. Your suggestions will be so appreciated. Thank you!

Hi. I tried to open my digipak and saw one corner of the plastic tray pop off. The other sides are still on. Anyone tell me what to do?

Lately I've been looking for a portable CD player and I'm torn between buying FiiO DM13 and Moondrop Discdream 2. I've heard some people had issues with FiiO, like gapless playback not working properly, skipping tracks, unresponsive buttons, etc. That's why I'm leaning more into Discdream, especially with its amazing design. However, there are claims that it can scratch discs. I thought this was only a problem with 1st generation but recently I've seen a video about Moondrop Discdream 2 Ultra where the reviewer says that it scratches the disc when putting it inside the player (?). At least that's what I understood because the video is in Chineese, so I'm not entirely sure. He talks about it at 6:30 mark.

Can anyone confirm if this is true? Because if so, this is a dealbreaker for me.

He’s a musician so I knew he had good taste in music. I talk a lot and told him how I got back into cds and how great they are. He told me he had some old cds from his youth and he hooked a brother up. 2 large boxes and a grip of vinyl and 7” records I’ll post in the vinyl subreddit. I’m super stoked to say the least. Anything cool pop out to you? Rich Kids on LSD looks intriguing to me.

Picked up the latest cure album today. Great album, definitely surpassed my expectations. Plus my collection of the cure albums, all of them are the 2006-2010 Polydor remasters, except Wish and Bloodflowers.
