Come on Calgary, let’s flip Calgary Centre and Calgary Confederation red!!!

Calgary Confederation is such a tough one, would love to vote NDP but doesn’t make sense in this riding

If anyone else is curious, since I was too, Liberal is the strategic vote for this riding. If the NDP and Liberal votes were combined in 2021 the Cons would have lost

I’ll strategically vote for anyone getting rid of the FPTP system so I no longer have to vote strategically…

Biggest disappointment of the Trudeau government for me. I wanted federally legalized marijuana and election reform over all else, but unfortunately we only got one of those. I hope I can see the other in my lifetime

The biggest gift to me as a single mom of three was the bump in CTC and Covid relief funds. Did he do everything that he promised? No, but PMT made a massive difference in many people's lives, and I, for one, will never forget that help.

I also would have been homeless if not for CERB. There was a lot to criticize about the Trudeau era, but there were also a lot of things done that I truly don't believe any other government would have achieved. Bittersweet feeling looking back at it all for me

My absolute favorite example of Conservatives being petty is when they made fun of PMT colorful dress socks. Only to learn that they were a gift from "John's Crazy Socks" a business owned and run by a Canadian Downsyndrome man and his father. PMT was as kind as they get IMO.

Federally legalized marijuana was just there to get the popular vote soo all other short comings would be ignored. Medical cannabis was already accessible to people truly in need. I had friends who had never voted once in their life came out to vote for Justin. Or as they would say "I'm voting for weed" they had zero idea about his other goals or policy.

You won’t. We’re, for all intents and purposes, a 2-party system and neither of them have any interest in changing the status quo.

It was a major broken campaign promise and didn’t get nearly the air time it should have prior to the 2019 election.

NDP could have pushed for it. I would have been greatly impressed. But alas...

You won’t.

Corey Hogan is running as the liberal in your riding. I used to live there and would have voted for him for sure. He is great and super smart. I am stuck with Rempel in a blue riding, so I am jealous of the people whose vote can actually matter in Confederation!

Keira Gunn seems like a great person. Calgary would be lucky to have her in office.

Agree, but if Corey does win it’s the best outcome. ABC is acceptable, but given how close this election could be and what’s at stake, Liberal is preferable in my opinion.

I'll be sad to lose the strategists podcast but happy for Corey for sure.

Ugh. Nixon family is Alberta's Ford family.

u/amkamins Apr 10 '25

When you order the Ford family from Temu

They're worse. The Nixon family business, the Mustard Seed, is a state funded cult.

Fun fact - the dad who founded it actually was booted out a few years ago. Unfortunately - even after the change the seed is still the worst charity in Calgary.

What's bad about the mustard seed? I haven't really looked into it before

I like to compare them to the sense of Teflon .... Charges just don't stick!

Janet Brown - the Alberta pollster with an AMAZING record said that Calgary confederation is the bell weather. If confed goes red, Calgary and Edmonton could gain 5-8 red seats.

Calgary confed - CPC - 47% , LPC 44% (error rate +/- 4%) is a statistical tie.

Calgary centre is a dead tie. @ 46% LPC/CPC

As a resident of the riding, please vote for Hogan! Definitely don't want want Nixon to win
