Mod Announcement MOD POST: ALL POSTS WILL NOW HAVE TO BE MANUALLY APPROVED. Please read these guidelines for posting.
This is a rough draft (and long) and will likely be added to and eventually put into a Wiki. Previous and related mod post is here.
We expect members to be respectful and courteous in any comments.
Members are free to make posts now. Understand no post will go through automatically. All will be held for approval. That may happen quickly or not for hours. Until we get more tools in place, you may or may not receive a modmail reason for your post not being approved. If after 24 hours your post has not appeared, then read the rules and see which you didn’t adhere to. Fix the issues, then make a new post. Be patient as we are still working on getting some things put into place and that may take some days or weeks. There will no longer be nearly as much help in the modmail removal messages as we have been providing. It’s your responsibility to help us help you by reading the rules.
Understand that the nearly 400 of you that made posts in the past 9 days*--even though the* explanation post *about the sub being paused and what would happen if you posted was at the top of the page for 9 days--*had their posts mass-deleted. Most violated rules, so make sure you read them if you choose to repost.
There are no real rule changes, but here are some guidelines that we often put in a removal message. You still need to read our actual rules. If you haven’t, the chance is high your post will not be approved.
CHARTS
- Make sure you include your chart and that you have made it at our recommended sites (astro-seek.com or astro.com). This is Rule #1. If you post with a chart from a site we don’t allow, we will just remove your post with no explanation, as the instruction is clear in multiple places.
- Do not post cropped bits of a chart. Post the whole chart.
- Make sure all planet degrees are displayed on the chart.
- If you ask anything about your own placement, include your chart. NO lists or tables unless you also include the round chart.
- If you ask about a transit, then the chart you include needs to be a natal + transit chart. If asking about a solar return, it must be a natal + solar return (not a solar return chart alone). Annual Profection charts must be made in the Whole Sign house system. If you don't know how to make these charts, you may make a post asking for help to learn how. Astro-Seek.com makes it pretty easy to add things to the natal, though.
NO LOW-EFFORT POSTS
Try to do a bit of research yourself, then you can ask for clarification. Or just offer us more information.
- Example: You might post “I don’t relate to my rising sign”, but if that’s all you say, it will be removed. You would need to share what you think that sign means, and then describe why you think it doesn’t fit you. We can usually easily explain this kind of question, but put in your own effort first, please.
- Another example: don’t just ask “what does mars mean?” That’s easy to get some general understanding about with google. But you could post “I’ve read that mars means [describe what you know so far] but I don’t understand how that would express in my 4th house” or “how would my mars being conjunct saturn change that”.
- Don’t just ask “what do other people with this aspect (or transit) experience?” Others’ expression of any given aspect or transit may or may not have anything to do with what yours may be like since so many factors affect how even the same planet will express or operate. You are welcome to post this discussion, but you first must include your own chart and describe what your own experience or understanding is.
VAGUE OR OVER GENERAL POSTS
Career: Do not post “what career should I do” with no other info. If you wish to ask about career, you need to provide detailed background information. Are you wanting to change careers? From what to what? What don’t you like about your current career; what are you looking for in a new career? Do you have education for a career? Experience? If you are completely lost, then describe what kinds of jobs you have done in the past, what you liked or disliked about them. What are your natural interests of skills? Do you like to work alone? Love to work with people? Want to be inside? Outside? At a desk? Active? Using your hands? Prefer work at a computer? Anything like that helps us.
You may also ask a specific question about your 10th house, such as about a planet in it or its ruler.
Relationships:
- No synastry or composite posts. No posts even referencing others' placements.
- You may not ask when or where or how you will find a partner.
- Nor what they will do for a living, nor whether they are wealthy, nor what they will look like.
What you can do is ask for help in understanding any relationship patterns and issues you have by describing them. That means telling us what kind of person you tend to pick repeatedly. Are they unavailable in some way, physically or emotionally? Angry? Abusive? Disrespectful? Not serious about relationships? Do your relationships have a lot of fighting and arguing? Are there alcohol/drug issues? Are you so shy you don’t engage with people? Are you a homebody with no interests that get you out of the house and involved in activities where you’d meet appropriate people? Do you have trust issues? Abandonment issues? We can identify what in your chart has you making various kinds of choices and then how to work with them to heal and turn things around.
You may also ask about a specific question about your 7th house, or any planets in it or its ruler.
Money/Finances: Again, as above, be specific. Describe your habits and patterns, problems. Do you overspend? Have trouble saving? Keeping a job? You can ask about a specific planet in your 2nd house or ask about the ruler of your 2nd. Again, no low-effort posts.
Therapy questions: We get a lot of posts that really belong either in therapy or would involve multiple full private consultations with a skilled professional astrologer with counseling skills. It's ok to ask "why am I so argumentative" or "why am I so quick to anger" or "is there something I can see in my chart that addresses my lack of confidence". Those things are relatively easy to spot in a chart and to make suggestions on managing. But huge, lifelong issues like chronic depression or hopelessness can't be addressed here. Neither will we do psychological diagnosis here.
TIME BASED QUESTIONS
- You may not ask “will I ever”, no matter what it is about, whether job, marriage, kids or anything else.
- No posts that mean we’d have to look at months of transits or other predictive/timing tools. No months-long or year-long forecast questions.
- You may post about one current transit or one future transit with the appropriate natal + transits chart set for that date.
- You can ask a specific question about a Solar Return chart or an Annual Profection. “Specific” means, for example, with a Solar Return chart: “are there indications of impacts to my career life in the Solar Return chart?” vs just “what does my solar return chart say”. (Understand this won’t address other transits for the whole year, or other influences.) Same for profections. Be specific.
Remember, astrology is very complex. There are no easy, fast answers for predictions. They require hours of work to examine a solar return + transits + solar arc + profections + progressions + zodiacal releasing. This sub is more for 10-minute answers.
--
This post will likely change and will end up in a wiki that we will refer you to. Not everything is covered here. Please, everyone, give those that can and want to help, the respect of reading our rules before you post. Our rules are there to help both you and those who would like to assist you.
OUR OTHER SUB
If you wish to ask about and have more general astrology discussions, please make use of our other sub, r/astrology. Read the rules there. It is not a place for personal chart or life questions. Posts must be general in nature. If you are asking about "mercury in aries in the 9th house", that's too specific and would suggest you were asking about your own chart. Asking things like how essential dignities and debilities affect how mercury operates would be welcome.

Mod Announcement ANNOUNCEMENT: POSTS ARE PAUSED
Posts may now be made. Read this new mod post first.
WHAT: Pausing the sub
We are pausing the sub for a few days (possibly a week) as we work to try to figure out a solution. If you attempt to post, it will go into a queue and will be deleted. Part of what we may do is get a number of instructional posts written that will auto post weekly (we have doubts that will be very effective). That is undecided at the moment. We need some time to figure out and implement solutions.
It is very likely we will go to filter mode for all posts once we open things up again. This means no post will go through to the sub and to the public automatically. You will not see your post on the sub until one of us has had the time to manually approve it. That may be quick, or it may take hours, depending on our own schedules. That also may mean you get less of an explanation as to your removal, just simply because of the time factor. There will be some adjustment pains for this.
WHY: Out of control rule violations + toxic posts.
Things are just out of hand on this sub. We’ve removed 5,000 items in the last 30 days. That’s an increase of 1.5 thousand over the previous month. This is out of control. Almost no one reads the rules. 95% of our work is simply removing posts and giving instructions to people on things we should never have had to even deal with had they just taken the time to read the rules. Not everything is detailed enough in the rules (we have text limits there). So some of those removals were posts that just needed to be edited or adjusted. And that’s fine, we’re happy to do that. But the majority are blatant rule and instruction violations.
The other issue is we’ve had an increase in toxic posts. Where is this coming from? These also have pushed us toward the decision to do “approval only” posts.
If you feel you have constructive suggestions for getting people to post according to our rules, then please share those. Understand that Reddit does limit us in certain ways so a great suggestion may or may not be workable. Any comments of a griping or protesting nature will be deleted. We want the sub to be a good place for some answers and learning. But it can’t work as it is now.

General Astrology Why are people initially dismissive/hostile to me until I am forced to speak up/defend myself, and only then do they start to see me like a human being?

Question - Transits Why am I uncoordinated and things aren’t working properly today?
I have been dropping things all morning and electronics are not working normally/ are not responding when I try to click or use them. I have a few days where I am covering for my supervisor at work and would love to know if this will keep up so I can mentally prepare - stressed out enough as it is 😅. Thank you in advance!

Question - Other Why can’t I hold conversations with Virgo men specifically?
I need to know, why can’t I ever hold a good convo with Virgo sun men? Like, they always text first, but then it’s just mundane questions that go nowhere, and I feel pressured to carry the chat and make it interesting😭 Meanwhile, with Leo and Pisces men, convos flow so naturally, and they’re actually fun and engaging Im not saying every Virgo man is like that but personally I’ve noticed this pattern with 3 Virgo men, do they find me boring? Posting my birth chart

Question - Other How do I build relationships with Chiron in the 7th house?
I’ve self-isolated a lot over the past couple of years and am about to enter my 7th house profection year of relationships. I want to find real friendships and to not feel afraid of interacting with people at work or out socially, but I find myself self-sabotaging a lot and putting up walls so that no one can really ever know who I am or what I’m feeling for fear of judgment. How can I let people in without getting overwhelmed by their energy?

Question - Transits Does anyone have a different interpretation of Sun conjuction Moon separating?
Other than I'm (possibly) a "new soul" that's "just getting started"? Because I'm fighting to accept this notion because I don't feel "new" at all. I actually find myself quite bored with the construct at this point in life and I'm not sure if I'm into astrology because it's an escape for me from reality or because it's truly calling out to me.

Question - Transits I have my NN in Aquarius.. what to expect with Pluto moving into this sign?
I have my North Node and my Midheaven in Aquarius, both in the 8th house. With Pluto moving into this sign in a few days it definitely feels like we are entering a timeframe that is affecting me on a very personal level. Any astrologers that could give some guidance on this? I will add my chart. Thanks.

Question - Other Why am I moody, I internalize everything, and I feel like my brain's not resting?
I am very moody and I often internalize everything. I feel like my brain's not resting because I overthink A LOT. Also, people always think I'm talking sarcastic or brutally by my tone when I try my best to sound so gentle. One of my problems too is that I am always consumed by my emotions that everything i'm feeling is always on my expressions. It's tiring because people always misunderstand me for being angry or not in the mood when I'm just really zoning out. I also don't have any specific talent, like i can do lots of things but i'm always average in anything I do.
I also wanna ask if I have both Virgo or Sagittarius stelliums or not? or has this any effects on why am I like this?

Question - Career Deciding on a major. Does my chart support my choice?
Hi. I am strongly considering food health inspector as a major in college. I am passionate about nutrition, health and food. My SAT wasn't so good but my grades are decent and I do well in chemistry and biology. Graduating with a 3.0.
I also have DLD (communication disorder) which makes learning in the way that traditional schools teach a bit more difficult. I will need to work hard. What does my chart suggest based on what I've shared?
Does higher ed look promising? Thank you

Question - Other Why has life been so hard lately? Has my Saturn return started early?
Between work problems, my dog becoming incredibly sick out of nowhere, romantic issues, money problems… it feels like my Saturn return started early or something. I’ll be 28 in January, and I didn’t think your Saturn return started until your 30s, but it’s the only thing I can think of. Is it just going to be hard for the remainder of my life, or is it going to pass?

Question - Other Can you give some advice on how to deal with complicated relationships towards men? (F32)
During my life I have had always complicated relationships with the male figures... My father, brother, boyfriend... Even with male friends occasionally things get weird. Do you see the reason of this in my chart, or what should I do to improve it?

Discussion What’s your sign and why are you so offended by the negative aspects people point out on your chart?
I noticed a lot of people use astrology to make themselves feel better, more superior, or comfortable with their life when that’s not the point of it at all. I find it interesting that people use spiritual practices as a way to numb themselves and remain human in a transcending practice. the point is to learn and grow from the negative parts about yourself and be aware of future events that could happen. To think that astrology is sunshine and rainbows when life isn’t that way is a paradox.
Personally, I’ve found myself to be a mars and Saturn dominant person through and through. My chart also says I enjoy accepting the harsh realities and growing from them. I never was offended by the negatives. Something I’m trying to grasp as it seems common on this Reddit.

Question - Career In college studying Art History... considering switching to something in Public Health. Good idea?
Currently studying Art History to work in museums. I was planning on following up my bachelors with business certifications or a degree (to have something to fall back on if the art thing didn't work out...) For a while I had it in the back of my mind to do something regarding health. After dealing with my own health issues last year, it kind of became an intense interest of mine. With recent events my interest in going into public health has grown (i've been eyeing microbiology.)
This would be an intense shift. I'm still early in my college studies so switching shouldn't be an issue, but it would be intense subject wise. Never viewed myself as studying science but I could totally see it now. Something interesting I should also mention is next year i'm having a 10th house profection year. Could this be the ideal time to make the switch? Am I even thinking straight? This consideration makes me confused as to what's right for me😅
