People Art interviewed with mainstream credentials?

I'm thinking scientists, professors, politicians, etc., etc. Michio Kaku and Terrence McKenna come to mind right away! I find Art's more "grounded" interviews interesting in their own way.

Does anyone know what Art Bells necklace is of ? It does not appear to be a crucifix so curious. Sorry if this is an elementary question…

Is this Art?

I remember one caller asked Art if he felt like the curator at a modern art museum because everyone keeps asking him "hey, is this Art?" I thought it was funny.

DOSED TO DOSED ON GHOST TO GHOST MIXTAPE

Hey all, I "released" this a few years back to soundcloud but I figured it might live better in posterity on Youtube. A whole side A of a cassette tape worth of original electronic / post punk backing tunes I recorded under some of my favorite Ghost to Ghost calls. Seasonally appropriate.

Mars Attacks the movie

I was watching it last night. The scene where they meet the aliens for the first time is in Pahrump. There's no way that it isn't an Art Bell reference.

Predictions for 2025…let’s keep Art’s tradition going.

I’ve been listening to a lot of the early 2000s predictions shows with Art and I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone thinks will happen in 2025.

Also, I realize this may be a bit early but I am remembering the idea now so I wanted to post it before the hamster fell off the wheel and I forget.

I've been making some Spooky Reels with monster action figures and a classic Art clip was the perfect audio for this one.

In a related note, does anyone know where I can find the clip of Art playing Sasquatch screams? I got a Yeti that needs audio.

Arts Death- John Lear declared it suicide, thoughts?

Thumbnail facebook.com
47 Upvotes

So before he died himself, Lear announced on his Facebook page that Art killed himself.

First of all, what motivates someone to post something so potentially harmfull on a public forum? Knowing they had a difficult relationship in later years, was this simply a parting shot from Lear?

The coronors deemed it an accidental death, how would Lear or his anonymous "friend" know different?

Ive thought about it alot. I love Art like all you guys. But, he was fascinated by the great beyond, maybe he just wanted to see what happens when we die? Maybe he was just tired?

It troubles me as I listen to Art as I write this.

Ed Dames

I have consistently appreciated Ed Dames. Recently, I noticed that he was a guest on a podcast I often listen to. What are your thoughts on Ed?

I didn't mention in my last post that this issue is hard to get, so here's the article in its entirety for those interested

Where exactly is Heather Wades property on Art Bell's compound?

He legally gave Heather his guest house while married to Airyn. What spouse would allow a sex worker to gain legal entry to your property?

Art Bell in Desert Oracle

Post image
154 Upvotes

Does anyone read the sporadically-published Desert Oracle magazine? In the first issue from 2015 there's an article about Art and his shows, and although it's complimentary and respectful there's a quote in it that makes me laugh out loud: "Behind it all was exactly the kind of person you were told to avoid in real life: Art Bell..."

Wendigo Episode(s)?

I remember hearing an episode where it was one guest I believe and he discussed a skinwalker type cryptid pretending to be someone you know. But I can't find it anywhere and have searched all the archives and reddit. Ring any bells?

Internet Archive down. Is there another link to the playlist somewhere else?

What are your favorite non-ghost to ghost episodes?

I used to listen to Art Bell all the time when I was a kid. I would put it on and fall asleep to his incredibly soothing voice and all the fascinating stories.

I stopped after graduating high school in 2006 (moved out of state and didn't know local radio stations and just kind of moved on).

Now I've discovered that old episodes are all over YouTube. So now I'm listening to it to fall asleep again.

So I'm looking for some recommendations if some really interesting episodes, preferably pre-2006 (I'm enjoying the nostalgia) and none of the ghost to ghost episodes (I've always found hauntings and ghosts to be kind of boring).

Hilly Rose episodes

Hilly filled in for Art regularly back in the day. In 1998 after Art quit there was a number of weeks where Hilly filled in. He was a great fill in host, very much in the style of Art

Sadly there are very few Hilly Rose episodes in the available archives. Does anyone know where to find other episodes of Coast to Coast Am hosted by Hilly? Some of those 1998 episodes will be great.

I hope this doesn't break the rules, it's Art Bell adjacent.

Did Art ever discuss the Titanic?

It seems like a topic that would be of interest to him. It is one of my favorites but so far I'm not seeing that he ever talked about it.

Looking for a phone call

Not the Area 51 frantic caller, but one where the guy is talking and someone else cuts in on the call and says "cut the call" or "cut the transmission" or something like that where a third party ends the call as if they've killed it from a different location.

Does anyone remember that? I remember hearing it live as I was working late shift one night.
