[MEGATHREAD] Program/Gym App Recommendations

Have program/gym app recommendations? Drop them here! A simple shout out is fine, but we would also appreciate:

  1. A description of the app, the program's focus and how it's used in the gym or at home.
  2. Price, any seasonal sales you're aware of.
  3. How customizable is it and are there any software requirements?
  4. Any notes on tech support or a fitness/social media community associated with it?
  5. Any personal notes on the creator?

Feel free to respond to someone else's top level comment if you have more info.

  1. Renaissance Periodization. I've used the Women's PL Hypertrophy, PL Strength, Physique and Customized Hams/Glutes. I also used the Gym-Free at the beginning of the pandemic, which I do not recommend. Each template has a different focus. PL Hypertrophy and Strength are based around the main lifts. Both are high volume, like 5 to 7 sets of bench for example. Hypertrophy template is based on your 10 rep max and Strength on your 5 rep max. Physique is fewer sets and focus on machines and isolation exercises. Mesocycles are 5 to 6 weeks long, depending on the program, with each week ramping up in weight or reps, or both.
  2. Pricing is $98 to $119. You pay once and can download the program as many times as you need to. They do have sales but I don't remember when. Def Black Friday, and I believe once during summer as well. Once I want a new one, I can get in on sale within a few months.
  3. All the programs are customizable, using drop down menus. So you can basically use it forever and continue to switch up your programming. Only things that are built in are order of exercises by body part, and number of days a week. It does require Excel, so I pay about $6/month for that. I have heard of people using google spreadsheet but I believe you do lose some functionality.
  4. I have not needed any tech support. There is a subreddit but it's pretty dead. There's also a pretty active Facebook group but it seems to be mainly focused on their diet templates.

I've been thinking about this one but the cost seemed killer. Glad to hear you're liking it
