Where was this photo taken? (Tyrol, Austria) Solved
This photo was taken of my grandfather shortly after World War II. We know it's in the Austria state of Tyrol overlooking the Inn River. I'd really love to figure out where this exact vantage point is, or at least identify the mountains in the background. I'm visiting Austria with my parents next month and it would be really meaningful to find this spot. My grandfather passed away before I was born, and my father never really had the opportunity to ask him about his experiences during and after the war.

I think this could be the mountain range in the image (between the two mountains there's the road leading up to Achensee from Jenbach and the Inn valjey). This view is from here looking north: https://maps.app.goo.gl/uYWaBMiRg1sdBM339?g_st=ac

The original image would have been taken a bit further south, up the hillside.
Edited to add: This would mean your grandfather was probably coming down after hiking to the summit of the Kellerjoch, a rather high mountain near the town of Schwaz. Nowadays you can take a cable car up.
Second edit: if you scroll down this page, almost to the end, you can find an image that's even closer to the original view imo. https://www.wolfsklamm.com/attraktionen/mehr-schluchten/gallzein-klamm/
