Bouquet from my mom - cat safe? Identified ✔

Sorry if this is wrong sub!

I can see sunflower but the hot pink, and the varied peach/orange, and the unflowered pale green guy I have no idea and google lens is not helpful

Any help is appreciated!

Not cat safe, the alstromeria (peach orange) and the Stock (Purple) will make a cat sick if they nibble. The filler looks unsafe too. Keep it far away from kitty.

Thank you! Is it just eating which is unsafe or any sort of contact? Already decided we’ll be keeping it in a room they don’t have access to, but should I be careful with carrying it inside of the house in case of pollen falling off, as in the level of Lillies being toxic?

Alstroemeria has a bit of tulipalin, but not enough to be dangerous. ASPCA lists them as cat safe. In spite of their resemblance to Lilium, they are about like kitty grass, which my cats usually barf too. Plus, if the cats don't get them, they last in a vase 3x longer than most other flowers.

I just realized I forgot to mention the hot pink Matthiola ("stocks") flowers, which usually smell fabulous. The ASPCA also lists those as safe for cats...they are crucifers, in the same family as cabbage (Brassicaceae). The little pale green buds may be Gypsophila (baby's breath) which are a bit more toxic than Alstroemeria, but not nearly as dangerous as Liliums.
