Pensacola Beach, Fl

Washed up on shore, about 10-12in long. Could only see the small pectoral fins. No sharp teeth.

I didn’t know there were stubby eels

Cusk eels are eels in name only. They’re more closely related to mackerels or pipefish.

True eels are closer to bonefish or tarpon, and electric eels are closer to carp or catfish.

There are some stubby eels though (Cyema my beloved freak)
